Man Keeps Baby With Down Syndrome After Wife Abandoned Them
Samuel Forrest is from New Zealand but works and lives in Armenia, and his wife is also from Armenia. The couple recently had a baby and Sam was surprised when the baby was taken out of his wife's room soon after the birth. Hospital authorities wouldn't let the new dad see the baby or his wife as was the custom in the country's hospitals when a child is born with Down's Syndrome.
Samuel did not understand all this until several minutes later when he was finally able to follow doctors and nurses into a room to meet his baby. That was when they told him that his son, whom he has now named Leo, had Down syndrome. Though the new dad had a few moments of shock, he got over it and when he held Leo for the very first time, he said, "he's beautiful -- he's perfect and I'm absolutely keeping him."

Woman Takes Hospital To Court After Giving Birth to Down's Syndrome Baby
A South African woman has gone to the constitutional court to claim thousands of pounds in damages after a medical centre failed to diagnose her son with Down's syndrome.
The woman, identified only as Ms H. to protect the identity of her child, is arguing her son represents a "wrongful life," as she would have aborted the foetus if she had been told by the clinic it was at a high risk of having Down's syndrome.
Telegraph UK reports that the mother is seeking £368,742 in damages on behalf of her child, who has severe Down's syndrome and needs constant care, according to court documents.
Earlier this month, there was also an uproar after Australian parents were accused of abandoning one of their twins born through a surrogate mother in Thailand after the male baby was diagnosed with Down's syndrome.
