General Mohammadu Buhari, former head of state of Nigeria narrowly escaped death yesterday in Kaduna, and some political commentators have asked how much of a coincidence it is that the attack is coming just days after Buhari and President Jonathan, as well as their respective political parties, exchanged some bitter political ripostes?

I never like it when people make deaths and sad situations political, taking away from lost lives of real human beings, and families mourning their own.

But in answer to such doubters, can we focus on the almost 100 dead and scores more in hospital?

Also, two key Northern leaders were attacked yesterday, and if this is the work of Boko Haram, then all hands have to be on deck on how to bring the menace of the insurgents under control.

Kirsten and Roger were getting married in London, and the bride-to-be sent off a group text inviting friends to her wedding photoshoot and barbecue, accidentally texting a complete stranger.

One of those text messages was received by a someone in Hackney whom she didn't know, and who responded asking who she was. Kirsten explained the invite was a mistake, and he should ignore it, but he texted back, “We still coming.”

That phrase is trending now on Instagram after the stranger turned up with up to 10 of his friends, and photobombed the wedding pictures, lol...

Talk about cool and swaggalicious wedding crashers, at least the couple seem to be taking it lightly, some on the wedding train don't look so happy :)

And we were just polling about public sex a few weeks ago!

Recently, a couple on a Florida Beach were arrested by police after they had sex in full view of dozens of people, including kids, in the middle of the day at a public beach.

According to news by Fox 13 Tampa Bay, people watched at first, outraged but not doing anything, while Jose “Benny” Caballero and Elissa Alvarez had sex for about 25 minutes.

However, when the couple decided to go for round two, someone walked up to them and stopped them while another called the police.

And of course someone pulled out her phone to take a video of the couple.

Kim Kardashian just posted another bikini picture, after a tabloid report that she has been abandoned by husband Kanye less than two months into the marriage.

Tribute To Lt. Kyom Leo: Young Soldier Killed Weeks Before His Wedding By Boko Haram

Lt. Kyom Leo was billed to marry his fiance Miss Angela Gaiya on Saturday the 30th of August, 2014 in Kaduna. The young army officer died fighting in a counter insurgency campaign against Boko Haram.

Now, one of my friends and favorite writers, Lulufa Vongtau, pens a tribute to his memory and to all those lost in the fight to contain Boko Haram in the North East of Nigeria.

Lulufa knew Leo as a child and was there as the young soldier was laid to rest on the 17th of July. Making his tribute more poignant is that Lulu also served in various capacities in Borno, when it was still peaceful.

Jack Johnson was the first black heavyweight boxer of the world back in the early 1900's. He had three white wives, and refused to date a black woman. He was arrested and jailed for being with these white women and was recommended to be lynched for marrying them.

Johnson was married three times. All of his wives were white, a fact that caused considerable controversy at the time. In January 1911 Johnson married Etta Terry Duryea. A Brooklyn socialite, their romantic involvement was turbulent. Beaten several times by Johnson and suffering from depression, she committed suicide in September 1912.

Less than three months later, on 4 December 1912, Johnson married Lucille Cameron, a young prostitute. After Johnson married Cameron, two ministers in the South recommended that Johnson be lynched. Cameron divorced him in 1924 on the grounds of infidelity. The next year Johnson married Irene Pineau; also white.

Zoe Saldana has just confirmed she's pregnant and she and her husband Marco Perego are expecting their first child together.

Her publicist shared the news with The Hollywood Reporter earlier today. The couple got married secretly in June last year. I'd heard about the baby bump rumors but decided not to blog about it till Zoe and her husband were ready to share.

Zoe is currently promoting her new movie – Guardians Of The Galaxy, and with haing to step out on the red carpet along the way, I guess there was no way they could have kept the news quiet any more.

A 27-year-old pregnant woman who was accused of stealing several items from a clothing store was busted after she posted pictures of herself in a shoplifted dress on Facebook.

Danielle Sexton reportedly swiped a multicolored leopard print dress with a black waistband from Morties, a store in her native West Frankfort. 

After the owner's son, Kert Williams, posted a note about the theft and a description of the woman on his Facebook page, people quickly began pointing him toward Sexton's selfie, which she had just set as her new profile pic. Williams passed the information along to the police, who arrested her.

American Teenager Faces Life In Prison For Molesting Kenyan Children While On Mission Trip

19 year old Matthew Durham faces a possible life in prison sentence after authorities say they learned that he allegedly molested several children in an orpganage home while on an African mission trip.

According to KTLA5, the suspect was volunteering at a Kenyan children’s home when he allegedly raped and molested a number of young children.

Court records indicate that Matthew Durham confessed to raping several young girls, forcing some boys to perform oral sex on him and even making other kids watch.

“This is a young man in our community that made choices to exploit children in an orphanage,” said United States Attorney Sanford Coats. “It’s a true tragedy all the way around.”

Husband Beats Wife to Death With Hammer After Reading Her Text Message To Another Man

A man in the UK has been accused of battering his sleeping wife to death with a hammer last November, and then fleeing the country.

The 'possessive and controlling' husband, Danish Irfan, 22, hit his wife Ridda Zanab’s skull so hard that fragments of bone were forced into her brain, killing her within minutes.

The case is now in court, where a jury heard that the sustained attack, which involved at least 10 blows as his wife lay sleeping under a duvet, was sparked by the discovery of a text message she had sent to a man named Rob, which read: 'I luv yu, mwahhh, gud nyt.'

The 21-year-old victim had only given birth to the couple's daughter two months before her death. After the wife's death, the husband took the baby to his mother and told them his wife had abandoned them.

Jada Pinkett Smith is raising awareness about sexual assault after both the very public #JusticeforJada campaign and her own niece's harrowing ordeal.

Smith participated in the #JusticeforJada advocacy earlier this month, when a story was made public about a 16-year-old Texan girl named Jada [her namesake], who was raped and further humiliated when photos showing her naked and unconscious went viral on social media.

"This could be you, me, or any woman or girl that we know," Smith wrote on Facebook at the time. "What do we plan to do about this ugly epidemic? #justiceforjada."

Nigerian Teenager Arrested In New York After Killing Brother And Battering Mother To Coma

18 years old Nigerian boy Charles Okonkwo Jr residing in Dix Hill, New York who reportedly has a history of psychiatric problems killed his 15-year-old brother and brutally beat his mother a respected physician -into a coma over the weekend.

Charles Okonkwo Jr., has been charged with assault on his mother, Chinwe Okonkwo, 52, Saturday in Dix Hill, New York, but does not yet face charges on the death of Bradley Okonkwo.

Mrs Okonkwo, a Brooklyn doctor, has received the Congressional Leadership Award and runs Hope Outreach Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promote public health in Brooklyn and across the world.
