  1. I think it is very sweet. I have never had one before now and I'm looking forward to it this year.

  2. Valentine can be either sweet or bitter. it all depends on how the day goes: whom you spend it with, and how creative and spontaneously interesting you both are.

  3. valentine's day can be sweet if you have your soulmate and if he shows his love to you or bitter when you are aloneor forgotten. But love is sweet and doesn't need a special day to be shown

  5. I honestly don't think Valentines Day is all that sweet. I think love should be shown at any time, not just 1 day a year. I'd prefer to get chocolates & flowers on an anniversary rather than Valentines Day.

However I'll admit I've never celebrated this holiday so I'm going to have to try it before I fully hate it. ;)

  6. I tend to skim over Valentine's Day, but this is mostly because it is my wedding anniversary 3 days before and our focus is usually on that instead. 17 years this year. :o)

    Thanks for the great giveaway.

  7. Bittersweet - sweet for those who have found their true love, bitter for those who are unlucky...

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think Valentine's day is sweet for most young adults and forms part of their courting. For older married people it probably brings back memories if they were Valentines in their youth.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  9. Valentine's Day is sweet for sure, cause this allows so many people to express their feelings and emotions! It's not only for couples, though :) Anyone can find his/her love of the life or just a nice date for the evening!

    ReplyDelete
  10. yes, it's a special day for couples.. this allows them to have a good time and enjoy the day..:)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes. It is a day for couples. But everyday can be sweet even it is not Valentine's Day. I don't know if it is sweet for single people.

    ReplyDelete
  12. To quote Dickens "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". Just like X-mas and any other holiday it always depents on which side you are one. The celebrating one or the non-celebrating one.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think it's just a day when you can feel more lonely and excluded

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think it's sweet, all holidays are sweet:))

    ReplyDelete
  15. No.. Because truly i do not see any reason for there to be a valentines day.. I mean.. Everybody who are alone on valentines day will just be sad. Why want sadness?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think Valentine's day is sweet. A lot of people say you should show your love everyday but let's be realistic, sometimes life gets in the way. It's just like how it can't be your birthday everyday but when it is you receive gifts and appreciations. To me Valentine's day is an opportunity for people to stop and show love and appreciation to their loved ones.

    ReplyDelete
  17. yes because it is one of the few times a year that my husband makes an attempt at being romantic. He will buy me flowers and take me out, so it is great.

my entries are under Glenna Faccenetti

  18. I don't celebrate V day because we have another holiday on that day LoL. But I think it's sweet. Couples go out and have a good time. It's sweet because it reminds people to pay attention to their other half.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think it's sweet when celebrated with someone you really love.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sometimes it is sweet, it is like celebrating your anniverssary or birthday, a day that reminds us to show much more affection and appreciation to the ones who stole our hearts. But many people forget the main essence of it that they make it all about the gifts (like an event that promotes capitalism). To me, it should be giving your lover the kind of treatment that satisfies his or her love language the best.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Valentine is sweet depending on what you make of it, either single or in a relationship or married!
For me I'm excited as it's my first valentine (in how many years of existence(?!) that I would have a 'special one' in tow :-) :-) xxxx
Myne I hope I win!!!! :-D xx (That's a mini bribe for you lol)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think it's sweet, but I also think you should do nice things and appreciate your spouse every day and not only on V-Day!

  23. I am not a big fan of valentines. it just feels like commercialization of what shouldn’t be. I guess it's all from living in 9ja, where girls measure how much they were loved by how expensive their present was. o well. Happy Vals day in advance.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Valentine's Day is sweet because the focus of the day is primarily LOVE and LOVE is what makes the world go round whether it is agape, filial or erotic. Ps all the hugs, kisses, heartfelt words and presents do make a difference!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think Valentines Day is sweet because although we should tell those we love everyday that we love them, this gives us a special day to spoil those we love and really let them know that they are special to us.

    ReplyDelete
  26. While Valentines's day is sweet i believe love should be shown all year round as well not just on Valentine's. You show love you get love back in return......

    ReplyDelete
  27. I definitely think Valentine's day is sweet! I've always loved it, it's one of my favorite holidays of the year. I think V-Day is not just about being single, married or have a lover/boyfriend. It's actually a holiday of your loved ones. This year I'll be spending the Valentine's Day with my family :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Actually I don't think that Valentine's day is sweet or special in any way, because you don't need to have this one day in a year to prove love. For people in love it's like if the V-day is everyday. When you love someone, it takes longer than just one simple day:)

  39. Love could be sweet as chocolate or as bitter as pills. Love is blinding even when when it is not right, yet it feels like the whole world.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think it can be sweet. It all depends on your perspective...and your chocolate supply. :P

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think it is mainly a media/greeting card holiday. It can be sweet if you spend it the right way - loving and acknowledging the people in your life that mean the most to you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Valentine's Day is a government conspiracy! Hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, Valentines Day is sweet because it gives me an excuse to gift my friends stuff out from my heart. Yeah, friends instead of lovers - I always think of friends first before lovers during Valentines.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think it can be sweet as i have a lot of caring friends.
    Relationship-wise, i think it's overrated & very much commercialised :(
Who says on 1 set day a year is when you should be proving you love someone?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Both yes and no. For negative side, it's too commercial. For positive side, of course, spending with those you love, including family, friends, lover, would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  48. For me, Valentine's day is always sweet even if I'm single, because I spend it with the people I love most, my mother and my sister:)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I prefer to think that when you're in love, every day is like Valentine's Day! But as a one-time occasion, it's a really sweet day when we can show how much we love each other. :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Valentines is sweet because as we all know it is the date when we celebrate it with our loved ones. I think Valentines is sweet with or without your part, I myself is happy being single and is happy having my family :) True Happiness lies within yourself and not having a partner to be with on Valentines.

  53. Since I am single, I don't find it sweet. I find it sad, because everything on this day remind me of this fact

    ReplyDelete
  54. Not really as it was invented as a way of passing love notes in mediaeval courts. The real saint Valentine, if there even was one, has nothing even remotely romantic in the tales of his deeds!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think it depends on the person and what you do. It's been commercialized so that we think we have to spend a bunch of money which doesn't seem right. However, if you can make it about you and your partner and forget the rest then I think it's sweet.

  57. I think is a great idea for a day because it remind us that love is important, that we must celebrate it more often, we deserve love and affection. It's a beautiful reminder.
    Thanks for the giveaway.best wishes

    ReplyDelete
  58. YES and NO. Yes, I think the idea of Valentine's day is sweet. Expressing how you really feel about someone, showering them with extra love that day is nice. But shouldn't everyday be about Valentines Day, appreciating the one you love? My only hang-up is that is so commercial, like many other holidays. There is extra pressure added to find the perfect gift. Does it need to be expensive, sweet, personal? Sometimes something handmade or created is the best.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I dunno, maybe sweet for kids, but for adults it seems to be one more thing to stress about what to get my husband..lol
    Thanks for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  60. not really because i don't really think there should be one day that you show your love more than others. it should be the same everyday : )

    thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  61. no, because you have to love others every other day and not alone on Valentine:)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think Valentine's Day can be sweet if you don't succumb to the pressures of commercialism.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I do think it's sweet the way my daughter wants to celebrate it. She wants it to be a day when we show how much we love Jesus. She has the sweetest heart!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I haven't had a sweet Valentine's Day in about 10 years or so, so I'm not a huge fan of it... Maybe I should change that next year, and I'll see it with other eyes again.. Well, that would be nice!

    ReplyDelete
  65. It is only sweet if you have someone in your life, it can be very bitter if you are on your own.
    Thanks for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think it is another sweet excuse do go on a date with my husband :0)

  71. I don't believe in love so no, I don't think it's sweet. I think it's kind of annoying really.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I think it can be sweet, but painful also, especially if you don't get what you expect.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I think it is sweet as long as people keep it sweet and it doesn't become over commercialized

    ReplyDelete
  74. It's sweet if you have someone special to share it with, but not so much if you single.

    ReplyDelete
  75. It's sweet but only because of the chocolate. I often wonder how we would celebrate VD if we didn't have chocolate or flowers to give.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I do think Valentine's day is sweet. It is a time to appreciate those you love and eat chocolate!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. it is very sweet cause its when I met my husband

    ReplyDelete
  78. Valentine's Day is very sweet because of all the yummy chocolate I will be eaten!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think Valentine's is a holiday created by the card industry. We should profess/show our love for each other EVERYDAY and not make a big deal out of one day! With that being said, I do love my flowers I get every year for Valentine's day!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I think Valentines Day can be sweet especially if couples really take the time to do something special on the day.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I think Valentines Day is really sweet! A day to spend with your loved one is really nice :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Not really, I guess it's because Valentines isn't really celebrated in my country :/

    ReplyDelete
  88. I believe Valentines day is a commercial nightmare! Plus there should not be one day a year where you show your loved ones you care, you should do that everyday!

    ReplyDelete
  89. It can be sweet if you share it with someone special but over commercialized and cruel to the single people.

    ReplyDelete
  90. It can be sweet, it depends on who your with and what they mean to you.

    ReplyDelete
  91. If you have someone special to be with on Valentine's day than yes it's sweet but for the rest of us it's just a normal day. :) Thank you for the giveaway and for making it international!

  95. valentines day is sweet, it's fun to have a day just to celebrate how much you love someone, even though we should try to do it a little bit everyday :)

    ReplyDelete
  96. Um... no and yes.

Yes : for all the sweets you get!

No : When you see couples eating their faces off (it gets awkward!)

    ReplyDelete
  97. I am incredibly cynical and think Valentine's Day is just a way to sell cutesy things that will soon be thrown away or pushed in the back of a closet. People should show they love each other all year round, not just on one specific day.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yes,if you have someone who loves you to share it with. No, if you are alone and all the hearts and flowers get shoved in your face.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I think Valentine's Day is more comercial rather than sweet. When you, love you make every single day special just for being with that special someone. Every small detail counts no the gifts of an specific day. But that's just me ;)

    ReplyDelete
  100. I think it can be sweet, if you have a valentine and he/she acknowledges you and the day. If you just broke up or you have a scrooge in your life it can be pretty miserable.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I think Valentine's Day is sweet. It's the time when you exchange flowers, hugs, and chocolate. A celebration of love.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Valentine's day is sweet if you make it special for you and your loved one. Try to make it YOUR day by doing something that has a special meaning for the two of you.

  110. I think Valentines Day is sweet. Letting someone know you care and love them. Some times we take for granted the ones we love and care about. So its a good time to remind them how you feel.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think V day is sweet although I've never experienced getting off with someone special but I think it is because I know some people who try to make it special for the one they love. Happy Valentines Day!

    ReplyDelete
  113. Valentine's day is cute, but the media has made it just another money hungry holiday

    ReplyDelete
  114. Valentine's Day is sweet when your spending time with the one you love, not because of the amount they've spent on you. Nothing is more precious than time!

    ReplyDelete
  115. It's sweet if you keep it about love and not gifts or presents!

    ReplyDelete
  116. I think Valentine's Day is sweet. I think of it not just as a holiday for your significant other but everyone you love. You don't have to buy anyone anything, just showing them that you love them is enough (though I do want a box of chocolate!)

    ReplyDelete
  117. My boyfriend always makes me a special dinner on Valentines Day - that's sweet to me!

    ReplyDelete
  118. V-Day is not too important to me..my hubby always works that night!

    ReplyDelete
  119. I think its a Hallmark holiday. I have a wonderful husband and we truly celebrate our love on our anniversary, why should there be another holiday for it. That being said, I love all holidays, even the pink, red hearts of Vday. I always do something with my kids and my husband is deployed this year, so nothing special going on with him. Most holidays are for the kids anyways, I think!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Yes and no. I like a day that special, but at the same time it's such an artificial holiday. I do however like the designated valentines day candy. In my opinion it is number 3 in holiday candy importance which is always a good thing. number 1 being Halloween, and 2 being Easter.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Yes I think Valentines day is sweet - it is fun being creative and showing someone you love them.

    kayswederski@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  122. Well, to be honest, I don't think it is sweet at all. I've always thought that it is wrong that we need a day to be reminded to tell and show our love ones how we feel about them because it borders in dishonesty. People should do it all the time, without reminders or pressure from society and because they feel it from the bottom of their hearts.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I think Valentines Day is sweet. My fiance and I have never failed to let each other know we are loved throughout the year, but it is nice to have one day set aside where we can make extra special plans, especially since we sometimes forget our anniversary...lol.

    Jennelle S

    ReplyDelete
  124. I think it could be, but since my husband works two full time jobs and is gone both day and night it is just another day to me.

    ReplyDelete
  125. It's sweet because it gives the couple a chance to be together, to love each other and spend the whole day together!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Only because it is so candy oriented.

    ReplyDelete
  127. haha...it is sweet. Loads of candy and chocolate and stuffed toys although sometimes it gets a little cheesy! LOl

    ReplyDelete
  128. It's definitely sweet if you're sharing it with the one you love.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Valentine's Day is just an ordinary day for me, with the exception that most of the things I see on that day has to do with the color red. Plus, I think that it's not the only time that people can give their special someone flowers and chocolates and anything else. So yeah, it can be a sweet day for someone else, but for me, there's nothing much about it that makes it stand out above any other days on the calendar.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I guess "lovers" should always love eachother, and they should always express their love everyday, and not only in one specific day which is on valentines..

  140. I think Valentine's Day can be both sweet and un-sweet. It can be sweet because two people show each other how much they love each other and mean to the other even if it is between friends/family :) However it can not be sweet if couples only use this day to show the other they love each other.

  147. Yes. It is sweet, as long as you don't go overboard. It's about celebrating your love but we do that everyday. I give him a massage

  148. Only sweet for chocolatiers and florists.

  151. Valentines day is sweet for those who have someone to share it with but stressful for someone who doesn't have. But hey, It's about LOVE! Sharing it friends and family is part of it.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Well I think it's sweet by virtue of all the candy that gets gifted on that day. I also think it's sweet for kids and young couples.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I think it is sweet, but a little over-rated. My hubby and I don't really bother with holidays other than Christmas. It's just too much hassle to buy all those unneeded presents.

  154. When you're young, Valentines is sweet. As you get older, it can be romantic. And then it turns into just another day! :)

  155. What a clever question, yes I believe Valentine's day is sweet.
Like the idea of the cupid tales and finding true love.
My hubby and I share a great meal that day.
Have my boys sweet handmade valentines that they made for
us. Thanks for the great book hop and book hop giveaway, too.

  156. I think Valentines Day is a great day to spend time with a loved one, and to remember what makes your relationship special. That is the sweetest part of Valentines Day!

  157. I think it's dumb. It's the historic day of the death of a Saint. And you should proclaim your love every day of the year.

  158. I think Valentine's Day is very sweet as long as we have a loved one in our life!!

  159. I think that Valentine's Day is sweet for both couples and single people too because it's a day that reminds us that love does exist.

  169. I think it might be overhyped a little. It's bad for the singles, but for the couples I think it's super sweet. if you have a nice boyfriend/girlfriend.

  170. Valentine's day is an important holiday, I believe, but the giving of sweets is some annoying chocolate company's scheme. Other than that, Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays

    ReplyDelete
  171. I know everyone stresses the hallmark-ness of Valentine's Day, that it's just a commercial way to sell cards and candy, but I think it is sweet. It's celebrate love and lovers and it's nice, with or without the expensive gifts, just to tell a person you love that you really appreciate them. People forget the little things in day to day life, busy with work and friends and school, and it's nice to set aside just a day or an evening to specifically remind someone that you really do care about them. I think it's sweet.

  172. V-day is sweet. Love is not enough in this world and I believe V-day can help.

  173. I guess Valentine's Day can be sweet if you have someone to share it with. For the rest of us, it's an excuse to buy a bunch of candy.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I've always liked the neat love-centered gifts that come out around V-day. I've always loved any excuse to give gifts, and this is just one of them.

  176. well Its sweet because its a good reason to make a couples night but when you don't have a valentine its a bit patronizing to us lonely people lol!

    ReplyDelete
  177. I think Valentine's Day is sweet if you have the right attitude; it's supposed to be about love - not just lovers, but love. Everyone has someone or something that they love - whether it's a husband, boyfriend, child, parent, or cause. Find someone or something that you love and dedicate your day to it. Think about someone else for a change and the world will be a better place.

  178. Valentine's Day is sweet because it is a day my husband and I can spend together and reminisce about how we met. Your relationship is only what you put into it, and Valentine's Day is just a way to give yourselves a boost.

    ReplyDelete
  179. It can be, but not if the person feels obligated to do something special. We tend not to do much for it because our anniversary is on the 4th. I'd rather have spontaneous displays of affection & love. Gloria

  184. It is not my favorite holiday. I am a divorced Mom trying to make ends meet. I have tried to make it a happy day for my kids and especially letting them know how much i love them.
