Nigerian Woman Deported From the UK, She Wanted Asylum From FGM, Boko Haram and Forced Marriage

A Nigerian woman with two daughters was fighting deportation to Nigeria and seeking permanent residency in the UK but has been deported back to Nigeria. She claims that her 2 young daughters could be subjected to female genital mutilation, and she herself forced into marriage if they return to Nigeria.

Afusat Saliu, 31, said she also feared that she and her daughters, Bassy, four, and Rashidat, two, could be targeted by Boko Haram. She was given a reprieve last week but lawyer Bhumika Parmar said the family has finally been deported yesterday.

Another Baby Dies in Nap Nanny Baby Recliner - Product Has Been Recalled as Dangerous

Do you use a baby recliner for your child? A sixth baby has died while using a recalled “Nap Nanny” infant recliner, with safety experts again urging parents to stop using the product.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, or CPSC, the latest tragedy involved an 8-month-old girl from New Jersey. The baby suffocated while secured by a belt, trapped between the product and a crib bumper. CPSC officials said the infant was found stuck over the side of a Nap Nanny.
