Easter, eggs, and bunnies all remind me of Spring! I love spring as the earth springs back to life with green grass and flowers. So beautiful, and with Easter I remember the Resurrection. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI Love hiding and finding the eggs with my three kiddos
ReplyDeleteI alwaYs used to wonder what the bunnies and eggs had to do with easter. I found out they are both ancient representations of fertility...and spring.
ReplyDeleteI never fully got the whole picture tho'.
Happy Easter(in advance),Myne.
I honestly don't know. Every year around this time my mom buys chocolate shaped bunnies & eggs & we eat them. I guess that's my Easter.
ReplyDeletei read your book "A love rekindled" and i loved it!you've got a way with words, pls do keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI don't actually know... Since my family doesn't celebrate Easter day, I don't really get to eat egg shaped chocolates. And I don't get the bunnies either, but I think the event is really for children, for them to enjoy.. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI really don't know. We always have eggs and bunnies for my grandson though. It's just what you do, I guess.
ReplyDeleteThey are just so cute and bring the thoughts of new life into your head
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing rabbits are to do with fertility, as are eggs, and they're both tied to Spring :) It's actually Autumn here though, lol.
ReplyDeletekate1485 at hotmail.com
^^ bunnies for abondance, eggs for fertility and it's great in spring ^^ but in my countries they add little chiks and bell of easter^^

I don't know .I guess the chicken and the rabbit are fluffy and they remind people of spring:)
ReplyDeletei think it reminds us that spring is a time of renewal
ReplyDeleteThe word Easter comes to us from the Norsemen's Eostur, Eastar, Ostara, and Ostar, and the pagan goddess Eostre, all of which involve the season of the growing sun and new birth. The Easter bunny arose as a symbol of fertility due to the rapid reproduction rate. The ancient Egyptians, Persians, Phoenicians, and Hindus all believed the world began with an enormous egg, thus the egg as a symbol of new life.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I just like cute little bunnies, deviled eggs, and chocolate.
I think it has to with with new life & Spring.
ReplyDeletemarypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Honestly, I have no idea but I can guess... maybe bunnies come out during spring after hibernating or something and Chickens lay their eggs abundantly during this season too and people are celebrating Easter at the same time... so yeah...
ReplyDeleteit all shows the begining of spring and the start of new life - the chocolate is a nice bonsus though :)
ReplyDeletefor me it's something that reminds me that spring is here and that the winter is over with. plus i love seeing the look on my kids faces when the easter bunny leaves eggs and goodies. ;) and they love going to easter egg hunts.
ReplyDeleteThey're just TOO cute to resist :)

Bunnies! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway! I think Easter monopolizes on bunnies and eggs because in the West, where these images are rampant this time of year, the season is becoming spring and bunnies and eggs just paint the picture of growth and rebirth.

ReplyDeletehaha...I never understood the connection between bunnies and eggs either! As long as they are chocolate, it doesn't matter!! :D

ReplyDeletei don't know..haha..but bunnies are so cute.. :)
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteThey're just so cute! And Easter candy is the bomb... Thanks for the lovely contest! :)
ReplyDeleteI think is all about the religion. The red painted eggs I know that represents the blood that drip from Christ when He was on the cross (Magdalena left a basket full of eggs at the feet of Christ).
ReplyDeletethanks for the giveaway
xoxo
That's a great question. Most would say it's about religion(me). Some would say the candy... I guess all that matters is that you have a good one. I hope you have a good Easter Myne.

I guess I don't understand the question.
ReplyDeleteWell as far as Easter eggs go, they're made entirely of chocolate. What's not to love? Bunnies are just plain adorable.
ReplyDeletehistorically easter bunnies are associated with the Virgin Mary bec. it was believed they're hermaphrodites and can reproduce without mating. As for the eggs, it seems to have started as something aesthetic and eventually became tradition.
ReplyDeleteTo make it fun and family friendly, a hunt made of choco eggs have become tradition and evolved into this.
Happy Easter!
It's all about the Cadbury bunny. Chocolate. Eggs. She's up to something! :)
ReplyDeleteTheir fun and cute!
ReplyDeleteTheir Cute! And Easter Is Like The Start Of Spring And I Love Spring :)

ReplyDeleteI think it's the cuteness of bunnies. The rest is habit or tradition, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI think it all about spring and chocolate.

ReplyDeleteBunnies are really cute.
ReplyDeleteaustma7@aol.com
It reminds me of the coming spring time. Bunnies in a garden and hiding eggs!
ReplyDeleteGFC pinkflower
For me, bunnies represent springing to new life from the winter. Eggs represent abundance (sort of like black-eyed peas do at New Years)
ReplyDeletemagickalblessings26{at}gmail.com
I don't celebrate easter so I don't really know.
ReplyDeleteI suspect it has something to do with spring and the regeneration of life? I don't really know.
ReplyDeletethey were concocted by big greeting card companies
ReplyDeleteEaster Bunnies and eggs to me are a sign of spring. Nothing really to do with the true meaning of Easter.
ReplyDeleteBunnies and Eggs are a good sing of spring, and since Easter falls in the spring I guess its logical that they got combined.
ReplyDeleteJennelle S
Idk i really dont see how bunnies go with eggs but it seems to all fit in with spring.

I'm a sucker for easter eggs :D
ReplyDeleteI like coloring Easter eggs with my daughter
ReplyDeleteI think rabbits... because they are cute. There's probably something symbolic about the eggs. All I know is that I loooooove chocolate mini eggs.
ReplyDeleteFor me personally, it's not about eggs or bunnies at all. I mean, I have a 6 y/o daughter who does get an Easter basket every year delivered by the Easter Bunny, along with eggs the Easter Bunny hides. However, the Easter Bunny also leaves a letter for her every year explaining that though he loves delivering treats to all of the good little boys and girls every Easter, it's important to remember that Easter is not about treats, it's about Jesus and the Resurrection... It's just how we celebrate in our house.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway!! :)

ReplyDeletethey are so cute and fun it is just not easter without them
ReplyDeleteHow I celebrate Easter? I go to a family with parents, we bake lamb, colorful eggs and do other traditional things

I don't really celebrate easter. I just like the chocolate-eggs they sell in the stores. :D Uhm.. I guess easter is something, where ones family gather together and celebrate Jesus or something or just for fun... Can't remember. The Easter Bunny is cool because he brings lots of candy. I don't eat eggs (I'm allergic and I'm vegan) so I don't care about them, although dying eggs is fun.
ReplyDeletethe chocolate caramel eggs are delicious! We also love to pain easter eggs! My nephew had his first easter this year and saw the easter bunny! It was too cute.

ReplyDeleteEggs were some of the first signs of spring on the farm growing up, and bunnies are just cute advertising :) So both make for good Easter mascots.
ReplyDeleteshlamoof@mail.com.
I don't know what started it but I think it has to do with Easter being the beginning of Spring, the Bunny brings the kids their sweets so that the parents don't have to take the fall for the sweets lol, and who doesn't want eggs on Easter! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIt's German pagan ritual that was adopted by Christians when Germans were forced into christianity by the monarchy. The tradition stuck around and evolved.
ReplyDeletebunnies are fluffy and cute and just remind you of spring.
ReplyDeleteIt's about spending time with your family!
ReplyDeleteTHey just seem to personify Spring and renewal!
ReplyDeleteThey lay the eggs duh! krystlekouture at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteThe church never fully integrated all pagan rituals and symbols of spring into their holidays. I guess they decided the Easter bunny was acceptable on its own.
ReplyDeletelanalbradstream(at)yahoo(dot)com
3 things i love!
ReplyDeleteardelong2(at)gmail(dot)com
They are cute and make me think of spring.
ReplyDeleteThe Easter Bunny derives from an ancient church motif of hares and its comparison to the thought that they could procreate without losing their virginity, which is indicative of the Virgin Mary. The eggs are symbols of fertility, which is a customary theme of the Easter season falling during the spring---rebirth, growth, etc.
ReplyDeleteI think the connection has to do with springtime, fertility, mating...well, you see where I'm going!
