Lagos DPO Accused of Raping Woman in Police Custody Arrested

I salute the courage of Idowu Akinwunmi for holding the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Onikan Station, SP Adekunle Awe, to account. The DPO allegedly raped, extorted and threatened her life while she was in police custody. The Lagos State Police Command has now arrested the DPO and two other policemen of the rank of inspector as part of ongoing investigations.

For a lot of self-identifying feminists including myself, she has made the topic interesting and one for our generation.
