Indian Bride Abandons Wedding After Groom Fails Simple Maths Test
Less than a month after one Indian bride married a guest at her wedding following a collapse by her groom-to-be, whose epilepsy was not disclosed to her [read here], another Indian bride has walked out of her wedding because her groom-to-be failed to solve a simple maths problem, according to various news reports.
Local police in Uttar Pradesh said they mediated between the families, and both sides returned all the gifts given before the wedding. BBC reports that the groom's family tried to convince the bride to return, but she refused saying the man was illiterate. The bride asked the groom to add 15 and six. When he replied 17, she called off the marriage.

Newlywed 18-Year-Old Woman Gang Raped By 7 Men In India
An 18-year-old newlywed woman was allegedly gang-raped by seven men on Saturday night in Bhithali village of Shinor Taluka in Vadodara district, India, after she was kidnapped from her home.
The woman had migrated to Bhithali few days ago with her husband and in-laws in search of work. The victim's family is a native of Nishana village of Nasvadi Taluka in Chota Udepur. The family was employed by a farm owner in the village to do labour work in the fields. The local police sub-inspector J M Waghela confirmed the news to the press.

Female Japanese Tourist In India Kidnapped and Gang-raped By 5 Men For Three Weeks
A 23-year-old Japanese woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang raped by five men who subjected her to almost a month of sexual abuse in eastern India.
The woman, a student in Japan and visiting India for the first time, was lured to a house near a Buddhist shrine in Bihar state in November by a tour guide. There she says she was kept against her will and raped by five men.

Married Mom-of-Two Forced to Publicly Breastfeed Her Lover After Cheating Scandal
As punishment for eloping with another man while married, an Indian woman living in the village of Wardha, Mudhya Predesh province, was beaten by a mob and tonsured - a religious practice of shaving someone's head to show shame or humility.
According to Police, she was also made to publicly breastfeed the man she was accused of cheating with by a local tribal council. Officers say the 24-year-old mother of two had been having an affair with a man in his early 20s named Kamlesh, and decided to elope with him to neighbouring Gujarat province days before the mob attack.
