There's a New Royal Family in Town - King Felipe VI, Proclaimed the New King of Spain
Earlier this month, it was reported that the former king of Spain, King Juan Carlos, had decided to abdicate the throne in favor of his son, to make way for a “new generation.”
On Thursday, Felipe VI was formally proclaimed the new king of Spain, with his beautiful wife and two daughters by his side. The new king swore an oath before the Spanish parliament, pledging to unify his country and to work with its political leaders.
Afterwards, he greeted the general public from the balcony of the royal palace in madrid. It was a family affair for King Felipe and Queen Letizia with their two daughters, Princess Leonor, eight, and Princess SofĂa, seven, who were then joined by his parents. See pics below...
