Saint Obi's Job As Media Consultant To Goodluck Jonathan Paid For N46 Million Bullet-Proof Jeep?

Posted in: , , ,

Nollywood actor, Saint Obi has been working as a media consultant and his latest portfolio is to get President Goodluck Jonathan re-elected.

According to a report by Daily Times NG, the former actor is currently planning “ingenious” strategies for the president’s re-election in 2015. He reportedly told the paper;

“Despite the security challenges in the country, which will certainly end very soon, no Nigerian President had performed better than President Goodluck Jonathan in terms of first 3 years as President. This is a fact, not the falsehood circulated by 2015 power seeking propagandists…”

President Jonathan On Boko Haram: Things Will Change by Next Month

Posted in: ,

President Jonathan on Thursday declared that by next month, Boko Haram insurgence will reduce drastically. He said this at the 66rh National Executive Committee, NEC of the PDP. Jonathan stressed the fact that insecurity is the ultimate challenge of the country but plans to stop Boko Haram is well in place as he wants to instill his own leadership.

Commiserating with victims of killings in Kaduna and Kano states, the President disclosed that he would be attending the United Nations General Assembly summit on Global Terrorism which all the super powers would attend. He said:

“Nigeria is having an unfair share. Terror is a global problem, and Nigeria situation is going beyond terror. When terrorists think about holding ground, attempting to install leadership, it is no longer terrorism, it is almost like going into the line of succession. Between now and October, things will change.

Why President Jonathan Should Be Ashamed Of the #BringBackGoodluck2015 Campaign

Posted in: , ,

When I first saw a billboard with the hashtag #BringBackGoodluck2015 on my newsfeeds, I didn't want to believe my eyes, that image looked photoshopped. But with this new picture above, the reality of the campaign cannot be denied.

Whether President Goodluck Jonathan's political campaign machine is behind these posters, or they are from an independent backer, it is appalling that no one in his camp has come out to plainly condemn it.

It is pitiful and depressing that while the over 200 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram are yet to be found and returned to their families, it is all business as usual for the president and his political cronies. Shame on them!

The Washington Post has written a brief oped about president Jonathan's supporters using the #bringback hashtag for his campaign. I hope some people are reading;

Help My Ministry - Omoni Oboli Begs For Donations At Presidential Screening of Movie

Posted in: , ,

Omoni Oboli directed her first movie, Being Mrs. Elliot, and it was premiered recently amidst mixed reviews. The movie was selected for a screening to be attended by President Goodluck Jonathan and his cabinet and aides at the Aso Rock Banquet Hall in Abuja.

Omoni Oboli was also invited and in her speech at the event, she acknowledged that these were not the best of times for the screening, but noted that the movie was a comedy and will help relax the president.

She also begged for money, going all corny and religious, and asking the President to help her ministry and not forget to pay tithes after watching. Maybe that is how her pastor begs for tithes?

Washington Post Collects Nigeria's PR Money Then Satirizes President Jonathan's Op-Ed

Posted in: , ,

Last week, I posted [here] an Op-ed by President Goodluck Jonathan which originally appeared in the Washington Post under the title - Nothing is more important than bringing home Nigeria’s missing girls.

Today, that newspaper proved that the article was a paid-for PR piece when a member of their own editorial team wrote a rebuttal to Jonathan. Karen Attiah slammed the president with a satirized version of his own puff-piece which contained hard-hitting facts of ways in which his administration have missed the mark in dinding the missing girls.

There was also the revelation that the Nigeria government is paying a US PR company $100,000 monthly to launder their image internationally. What a shame!

President Goodluck Jonathan Writes on Government Efforts to Find Missing Chibok Girls

Posted in: ,

As if in answer to my question on the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan has written an article for the Washington Post about the Government’s efforts to find the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram.

I have had to remain quiet about the continuing efforts by Nigeria’s military, police and investigators to find the girls kidnapped in April from the town of Chibok by the terrorist group Boko Haram. I am deeply concerned, however, that my silence as we work to accomplish the task at hand is being misused by partisan critics to suggest inaction or even weakness.

My silence has been necessary to avoid compromising the details of our investigation. But let me state this unequivocally: My government and our security and intelligence services have spared no resources, have not stopped and will not stop until the girls are returned home and the thugs who took them are brought to justice. On my orders, our forces have aggressively sought these killers in the forests of northern Borno state, where they are based. They are fully committed to defending the integrity of their country.

President Goodluck Jonathan Not Celebrating Nigeria Being Africa's Biggest Economy

Posted in: , , ,

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Nigeria's finance minister and some other top officials came out yesterday to reveal that Nigeria is now the biggest economy in Africa. As far as I was concerned, that is news for the birds as long as more than half of Nigerian still live in poverty, and even the middle class have to provide their own water and electricity. I'm glad that President Goodluck Jonathan is not dancing all over the place with the news. He shared the following on his official Facebook page;
