Ese Walter's Affair With COZA Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo - The Story of Unrepentant Sinners and Chauvinist Men in the Church

Posted in: , ,

When someone told me about the affair between COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo and Ese Walters, as shared by her, I had my doubts. I saw the young good-looking pastor, asked if he was single, and suggested it may have been a relationship gone sour. I then went to read, and as I read the story, I found that the pastor is a senior pastor, was married, and had been grooming the lady, who was actually younger than I thought, for over a year. I moved from doubt and cynicism to clarity and understanding.

Pastor Refuses to Perform Wedding Ceremony because of the Bride’s ‘Sexy Dress’

Posted in: , , ,
exact style dress worn by a professional model

This story reminds me of the outrage of pastors in Deeper Life Church Nigeria after pictures of John and Love Kumuyi's wedding in Jamaica appeared online. This story happened in Houston, and involves African Americans. The wedding did not go on after the pastor stood his ground that the bride's wedding dress was not suitable for a church wedding.

Which Hospital Diagnosed This Woman as "Wombless"?

Posted in: , , ,

Miracles still happen today, and indeed God works in mysterious ways. Sometimes however, we need to ask questions rather than simply swallow every story put out by so-called men of God, or allow service providers continue to get away with everything including murder. A lot of medical diagnosis in Nigeria are either completely unreliable because diagnostic equipment is lacking or the doctor is not adequately trained.

Pope Francis Says "Who am I to Judge" Gays?

Posted in: , ,

The comments made by Pope Francis about gay people reminded me of one of the questions I answered in a recent interview. In reply to a question about the bill signed by the Nigerian house of assembly making homosexuality illegal, I said it was about "a few influential people using their positions to try to force the rest of us to do what they like."

Pastor Kumuyi Offered to Resign Over His Son's Suspension From The Church

Posted in: , ,

The wedding of John Kumuyi, son of General Suprintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, and Love Odih, daughter of the Deeper Life's Church group in Jamaica, started a wide-ranging conversation about the dressing of women in the church, especially for their weddings, and what could have been a double standard if the young couple were allowed to flout the church rules because they were children of high-ranking pastors.

Tunde Bakare and Other Church Leaders React to the Suspension Of John & Love Kumuyi

Posted in: ,

The conversation may have come to an end without it seeming like much change has been achieved, but I know that much more things often happen underneath the surface than we can see. The tip of the iceberg effect. John and Love Kumuyi surely knew this and that may be why they went on to have the wedding of their heart. On my part, I applaud them for starting this conversation.

The Deeper Life Bible Church Suspends Love and John Kumuyi

Posted in: , , ,

The leadership of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry have announced the suspension of Love and John Kumuyi from carrying out any activity in the church because they flouted Church standards during their wedding in Jamaica recently. Apart from my dismay over the couple's apology letter is finding out that the wedding did not even take place in a Deeper Life church.

Video of John and Love Kumuyi's Letter of Apology to the Church

Posted in: ,

I can just imagine the pressure mounted on John and Love Kumuyi from these stuck-in-the-mud church leaders to get to this point. I won't be surprised if the Lagos church fabricated the apology themselves so their cherished tradition can be upheld in the eyes of those they lead around by the nose. God help us all.

Pastor Kumuyi Speaks On Non-Essential Church Traditions

Posted in: ,

This is a video of Pastor GF Kumuyi the founder of Deeper Life Bible Church addressing members of the church in the United States about what church traditions are essential, and which are not. He uses personal anecdotes and bible passages to buttress his point that some traditions should be allowed to pass away so that latter day revelations can be used to build the church.

Did John Kumuyi's Wedding to Love Odih Take Place in the Deeper Life Church?

Posted in: , ,

A comment from another member of the Deeper Life Bible Church to the friend who attended the wedding and wrote a defense of Love Odih [HERE] got me thinking if people may be blaming this couple unnecessarily. As much as I searched however, I could not find a venue for the wedding. If it turns out that John Kumuyi and Love Odih are no more deeper life members, and did not wed in the Deeper Life Church, dos that make everything OK? Read on for the rebuttal.

A John Kumuyi Wedding Eye-Witness Defends Love Odih

Posted in: , ,

A commenter on the wedding post of John Kumuyi and Love Odih claims to be an eye witness to the wedding and that the photos have been unfairly and maliciously over analysed. Looking at the picture above, one may be tempted to agree, but could it be that by the time reception photos were taken, some of the make up had faded? Read the account and decide for yourself. (www.romancemeetslife.com)

On John Kumuyi's Wedding and the Deeper Life Dress Code

Posted in: , ,

Pictures of the wedding between John Kumuyi and Love Odih surfaced some days ago after their wedding last weekend and has been raising a lot of furor since then. I honestly had no idea when I posted them as I do some other celebrity wedding photos how controversial they would become. And it wasn't just on this blog. Almost everywhere I saw the photos, especially on Facebook where I got the picture above.

Exodus International is a large Christian ministry which claimed that they could "cure" homosexuality, now, they're planning to shut down. Known as the oldest and largest Christian ministry dealing with faith and homosexuality, the Board of Directors said they reached this decision "after a year of dialogue and prayer about the organization’s place in a changing culture."

Sign Fireman Speaks on his Hot Girls in Lagos Poster

Posted in: , ,

I was surprised when the slightly light-hearted post I made last year about Sign Fireman and the Hot Girls in Lagos poster went viral and was published and syndicated by various media outlets. It remains one of the top posts on this blog with the #1 keyword for search, showing that it's an issue on the public mind. Today, this comment below was made on that post by Whitney Chad, who I can only assume is Sign Fireman's PR person. For those in Nigeria, read and see if Mr. Fireman has a point.

"The point is that God sent me to bring Twenty-First Century innovations that will change Christianity and make it have more results! Let me give you an example.

Recently, believers do soulwinning among believers! Churches “wins souls” from another church! That is not soul winning! That is souls transfer! They are fishing in the frying pan! Real soulwinning is reaching out to SINNERS and getting them saved! To do that, one has to go to where sinners are!
