A Kindle or Book Gift Idea for Mother's Day?

Posted in: , ,
Have you considered 50 Shades of Grey? The Ad below is a really funny spoof but it is Not Safe For Work, and if your kids are sensitive or too wise, do not watch with them. And if you are too squemish, do not watch either. This is Saturday Night Live being as irreverent as possible. Don't say I didn't warn you. That said, let's laugh a little...

Did someone ask what the book is all about? Amazon Description - "When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms."

You can read blogger Flourishing Florida's thoughts on the book below.

I have this surprising bestseller opened in my Kindle. I say surprising because I don’t think too highly of the novel. I think the writing, if it could be eaten, would be slightly tastier than pig dung. But for some reason, this book is blazing trails, and selling in millions of copies. It knocked ‘The Hunger Games’ off the USA charts, and is outselling ‘Twilight’.

In any case, this is not a book review. This is about what I learnt from this e-porn of a story. The summary is that what a lot of you Nigerians have been doing all these times you are calling yourselves professionals is called Vanilla Sex.  [Source - FF on DailyTimes]

Full disclosure: I have not read 50 Shades of Grey and I do not plan to. Not that I don't read erotica, but I prefer mine vanilla  (thanks FF), or the real deal. So I'll recommend a less controversial gift idea that will suit more of the women, mothers, and wives in our lives, Amazon Gift Cards are perfect and can be used anytime.

And you know something, appreciation can usually go beyond material stuff. For instance, a hug, a kiss, quality time, and some real loving vanilla don't cost a thing :)

Have a great Mother's Day you all!
