RML featured the current World Footballer of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo and supermodel girlfriend Irina Shayk in our couple love post last October, see here, noting that the two have quite a turbulent and tempestous off-again, on-again kind of relationship. And it seems they are off now.
In a follow up to rumors that Irina dumped Cristiano over Christmas after clashing with his mother, reports confirm that she has unfollowed him on Twitter.
The rumors of the celebrity breakup gained fire after it was noticed that Irina Shayk was visibly absent at World Footballer of the Year event in Zurich on Jan. 12th and Cristiano did not acknowledge her in his thank-you speech while collecting his trophy. The photo above is of the two together while attending the 2014 Ballon D' Or event.
Her New York-based PR team told Goal.com: ‘The Ballon d’Or didn’t fit in with her schedule; it was because of work commitments. We have no further comment to make.’
Further back, on January 6th, which was Irina's birthday, Cristiano didn't wish her a happy birthday which he's always done in previous years. And for many, the nail in the coffin is that she's on holiday by herself even though this is not a football season.
Since then, Irina has been posting a number of pictures on her social media from the beach. The aspiring actress and former Victoria’s Secret model hinted she was single, posting a photograph of herself cuddling a black dog with the caption: ‘Found my new love.’
