The other day, I was invited by The Rotary Club, Asokoro branch, to come and have a small talk with them. The theme of the talk was, Longevity in Marriage and the challenges of bonding. Why me? I guess what qualified me is my seemingly fairytale marriage to Lady Diane for the past 37yrs..

Hummmm e no easy sha. On the D day, it was as informal as I had requested, as we all shared some of our challenges in our present relationships.

I guess most of us including me, walked out of the Hall room that day with some take-away on tips of how to keep our relationships and marriages refreshing. It was a very warm interactive session, as phones numbers and Hi fives were exchanged at the end.

Family Time - Charly Boy With His Wife And Three Daughters

Musician and activist Charly Boy shared this pictures recently while discussing Blood Ties we have with our family members. Charly Boy is turning out to be a very versatile and intuitive writer, and you can check out his featured articles, here. On family, he writes;

The other day I called a family meeting, in attendance was three of my daughters, two from the United states (Adaeze/Margaret) who have finished their master’s degree, looking for juicy employment, my eldest daughter Yvonne, who more or less runs my business. My first grandchild Olivia who is on vacation from school in Mauritius, my Mum, my last son Charles who runs his own fashion business and doesn’t live with me, my younger brothers daughter Nancy waiting to move in with her husband and my wife Lady Di.

A house full of women, hummm. The main crux of the meeting was reinforcing their sense of responsibility as long as they remain in my house and how we need to enhance our bounding and the love we share by doing things that promotes a united family. In short God blessed me with a good family.

Marriage Is An Impossible Fusion - Charly Boy

A soulmate marriage does not at all mean that you have found someone you match up with on all the cards – on all the issues, on everything. That would be the most deadly dull thing to even imagine. Instead, it means you've found someone and they don't ever want to blow out that little light inside you. And you feel the same way about them.

Growing up, seeing my Dad and Mum play the happy couple,  holding hands, stealing kisses, made marriage look so easy and beautiful. Hummmm for where?

Don't get it twisted, I saw them argue and quarrel as if they couldn't stand each other, but the next minute, they were back to their normal routine of holding hands and stealing kisses, even till my father passed at 97.
