Men Want Women Who Are Smarter Than They Are - New Study

Knowing the rationale behind the choices men make regarding partners has proved to be impossible. However, a new research is giving is an insight into the kind of woman men want. According to the new study, the majority of men want to settle down with a woman who is cleverer than them after being inspired by George Clooney. It's known as the "Clooney Effect"

Modern men want to follow the example of the actor, 53, who married his wife Amal, 37, a world renowned human rights lawyer, last September. The research said that 87 per cent of males would be happy with a woman who is more intellectual than them and earns more money.

It's official: George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are married! The groom looked a bit nervous in the pic above but he went through with it. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at the Aman Canal Grande luxury resort in Venice, Italy, today.

Clooney, 53, in Armani, and Alamuddin, 36, were married by close friend Walter Veltroni, the former mayor of Rome.

Video - George Clooney Declares Love for Amal Alamuddin - Did They Get Married Today?

George Clooney has gotten married to fiance Amal Alamuddin today, if reports are to be believed.

The couple had earlier been expected to have a ceremony at the actor's home in the Lake Como area in Italy later this month, but it was rumored that they would first have a civil marriage at the Chelsea Old Town Hall in London this morning.

However, staff at the Town Hall insisted that the wedding would not be holding at the venue today via a posted notice on their front door.

George Clooney himself revealed that they would be getting married “in a couple of weeks” in Venice. This was in an acceptance speech after he was given a Humanitarian Award by Celebrity Fight Night.

He had brought along Amal Alamuddin to the event for their first joint red-carpet appearance, and also declared his love for his beautiful lawyer fiance in the speech. See the video below...

DailyMail Apologizes to George Clooney About Story of Religious Problems With His Inlaws

George Clooney wrote a strongly worded article that slammed DailyMail reports about his inlaws, and surprise! They retracted the fake story and apologized to him and his fiancee. 

The report, which has since been taken down from MailOnline, alleged that Clooney's future mother-in-law Baria Alamuddin is against his upcoming nuptials to fiancée Amal Alamuddin because of religious reasons.

Clooney called the story "irresponsible" and took issue with the conflict-baiting nature of the content, rather than the intrusiveness into his personal life. He thinks such stories are dangerous for stirring the recent tensions around the world.
