Idris Elba responded last night for the first time to rumors of being cast as the new James Bond. The Sierra Leone/British actor tweeted an unkempt photo of himself while making a funny face as seen below, and added;

"Isn't 007 supposed to [be] handsome? Glad you think I've got a shot. Happy New Year people." 

His female fans on Twitter were totally positive, and many tweeted back at him saying a resounding YES. However, some other male tweets were not so hot on the idea. Their opposition is based on race, and mirrors the reaction on some comic book forums after Idris Elba was cast in Thor as a Norse god.

His pep talk is part of sending the right message about Ebola to the right people at the right time. West Africans love football a lot, and hopefully, this ad will catch on.
