Queen Celestine, MBGN Miss Universe Unveils Boo [Photos]

Queen Celestine represented Nigeria at the recently concluded Miss Universe 2015 where she took home the Miss Congeniality statuette. She shared the picture above on her return to Nigeria from Florida, USA where the event held and I was intrigued by the ring on her finger.

Turns out there's a boo in the picture, probably her fiance. She shared photos of the two together on her Instagram page. It seems her boo is travelling because she captioned the images, "Safe trip boo. Will miss you." See the photos below...

MBGN Releases Pictures of Contestants in Their Beautiful Traditional Outfits

I've been receiving tweets, emails and FB messages from various camps on who to vote for as my favourite contestant at this years MBGN. I know who some of my favorites are, but I think I was waiting for these pictures of the contestants in the native attires to convince me.

Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2014 Releases Photos of Contestants

The Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria 2014 beauty pageant has just released the individual head shot photos of all the contestants. 

The finals of the contest at on July 18th, at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Bayelsa state, where the lady who has impressed the judges and voters the most goes home with the crown.

I like the different skin colors and hairstyles represented. May the best girl win. Do you have a favorite?

Every year, thousands of girls compete in various beauty pageants across Nigeria. While the organisers may believe that they are helping our girls to feel “beautiful,” they are also in many other ways causing significant damage to the self-esteem and body perception of other girls.

The girl who won may feel as beautiful as the prettiest woman ever created, but what about the girls who didn’t win? How do they feel?

I spoke with some past contestants of one of the pageants (the girls that didn’t win) and asked them why they think they didn’t win, and this is what some of them said:

“Because I wasn’t pretty enough,” “Because the organisers didn’t like me,” “Because it is a racket and who knows what she has offered,” etc.
