David Beckham and his sons are being very clear which team they are supporting, and that is Argentina. But they are not the only stars and high profile personalities who trooped out to the Estádio Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro where the final match and ceremony took place.
Pele, Ashton Kutcher, Kaka, Mick Jagger, and Brazilian models Gisele Bundchen and Adrianna Lima were there. Presidents Jacob Zuma and Vladimir Putin also came out as well as Angela Merkel who came to see if she will be lifting the world cup with the German Machines.
Shakira performed at the closing ceremony and her son was on hand to congratulate her when she finished...
#WorldCupFinal ArgentinaVsGermany Draw at Full Time + Closing Ceremony [Photos]
Germany versus Argentina match, the final of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil is going on right now and it looks like it will end in a goalless draw at the final whistle of the full time.
Who is going to win? Argentina seems to have an edge but it's so hard to call. If it goes into penalty, it's anybody's game!
Check out some pictures from the closing ceremony earlier...

Germany Vs Brazil - 5 - 0 at Halftime, Ends 7 - 1 And Germany Proceeds To Finals!
Twelve years ago, Ronaldo, Rivaldo & Ronaldinho’s Brazil were tearing Germany apart in the 2002 World Cup final - how things have changed!
Germany is fairly tearing the host nation apart in this heated semi-final. Where is the Brazil that defeated all the countries in their group?
Germany scored the first 5 goals within the first 30 mins of the match. Let's see if Brazil can match that. Brazil has just about 20 mins to salvage any of the goals against them, but I doubt that's going to happen.
UPdate - The game has ended 7 - 1 to Germany who will now play at the finals.

US Keeper Tim Howard Says Christian Faith Helped Him Deal With Tourettes And Excel in Football
During the U.S.-Belgium game this week, Tim Howard blocked 16 shots on goal, a World Cup record. And although the United States was eliminated from the competition in a 2-1 loss, Howard was still voted the best player of the game.
Last Tuesday's defining game with Belgium drew an audience of 21 million television viewers in the United States, a nation that is slowly catching on to the rest of the world's top sport.
The team returned to the United States Thursday with its now-famous goalie a social media phenomenon. A trending hashtag #ThingsTimHowardCouldSave includes saving the Titanic from sinking and the White House from the alien attack in the movie "Independence Day."

Adaeze Yobo Defends Husband Joseph Yobo Against Criticism For Own Goal
Joseph Yobo has been criticised on various social media platforms for scoring an own goal [see here] during Nigeria’s match against France yesterday and his wife has come to his defense.
But really, it was not his fault, Enyeama had not thrown out the ball completely when it came from the corner kick by France. Joseph Yobo barely touched the ball before it moved further into the net. Seriously, any one can score an own goal, and it wasn't as if we were winning the match before then.
Anyway Adaeze Yobo did not take kindly to those yabbing her husband, especially on her own Instagram page. She slammed them while defending her husband Joseph Yobo and the Super Eagles.

Nigeria Loses 2 - 0 to France And Thus Ends Our World Cup Journey
Captain, Joseph Yobo, scored an own goal during today's World Cup round of 16 soccer match between France and Nigeria. But his mistake at the final minute was just the nail in the coffin.
The Super Eagles had a goal ruled out for offside in the first half after Emmanuel Emenike scored the first goal of the match with a cross from Ahmed Musa. That first half belonged to Nigeria as France started slowly.
However, France finished strongly in the second half with their striker Paul Pogba scoring a late header from a corner kick that broke Nigeria's defence.

World Cup Star Kyle Beckerman With Wife Kate Pappas Show Soccer Love With Engagement Photos
Kyle Beckerman, Team USA's midfielder, has been awesome at the World Cup, proving to be one of the most physical players on the field, his dreaded hair an unwelcome sight for opponents.
But with his wife Kate Pappas, Kyle Beckerman is a softie, a romantic and a lover. Even when they are on the soccer pitch, he is far removed from the fighter he usually is.
This is seen in the couple's adorable engagement photos taken at the Rio Tinto Stadium, the home field for Beckerman's MLS club, Real Salt Lake. The couple also got a few nature shots that show their love for the outdoors.

President Barack Obama Watching The USA Vs Germany Game Aboard Air Force One
The President of the United States of America, Barack Obama saw the World Cup game between the United States men's national soccer team and Germany aboard his Air Force One while he was en-route Minneapolis.
While people like Ann Coulter keep ranting rubbish about the beautiful game, fans of soccer keep winning. I pray the US team goes far in the world cup.
The United States lost 1-0, courtesy of a Thomas Muller strike, but still progressed to the second round of the World Cup where they will meet Belgium.
See another picture below...
Ann Coulter Bashes The World Cup, Says Soccer is a Sign of America's Moral Decay Due to Immigration
Ann Coulter is an American republican, she loves being controversial, and her favorite past-time is goading liberals and bashing minorities - now the list includes football, or soccer as it is known in the United States.
The conservative columnist took the time yesterday to air her views on the apparently increasing popularity of soccer in America since the 2014 FIFA World Cup. And she chose the morning of the U.S. Men’s National Team’s most important match of the mundial to stir up the waters. Her title? “America’s Favorite National Pastime: Hating Soccer.”
Ann Coulter complains about everything in the beautiful game, from the length to the rule about not using hands, to the team play required. Everything about soccer according to her is dirty and disgusting. She rounds off by saying soccer is only enjoyed by immigrants and real Americans don't watch soccer.
Check out excerpts from her commentarys below

Nigeria's Super Eagles Qualify For The Next Round At The World Cup
The Super Eagles, Nigeria's national team at the ongoing world cup in Brazil have just qualified for the next stage of the Mundial. Though the team lost their last match with Argentina, with 3 goals to 2, they have qualified to the knock-out stages as runners up in Group F. They are now the first African team to make it to the Round of 16.
And it is all thanks to Vincent Enyeama, who faced a flurry of shots on goal by Argentina striker Lionel Messi. There was also Ahmed Musa to equalize two of those goals that did get in, racking in some points the Super Eagles really needed to make it through.
Congrats to the Eagles and congrats to Nigeria.
Check out pictures below of Super Eagles supporters in Brazil, Nigeria, and around the world, celebrating the team.

President Jonathan Celebrating Nigeria Super Eagles Victory Against Bosnia - Twitter Reacts
President, Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria watched the World Cup match against Bosnia Herzegovina at Aso Rock Villa in the company of some of his aides.
The pictures shared by his media aide, Reuben Abati, shows President Jonathan watching the match and then celebrating Nigeria's 1-0 victory.
See the pictures of President Jonathan celebrating Nigeria's victory below, and how Twitter reacted to the pictures, including complaing about the President wearing his hat by 1am at night and in the first picture, he looks to be all alone.
#NigeriaVsBosnia - Nigeria Wins! Nigeria 1 - 0 Bosnia
It was a tough last 10 minutes, but yes, we did it! May God bless Vincent Enyema for all the saves, and also Odeweinge, doing all - defending, attacking, creating chances and scoring the first and only goal of the match.
I also think Emenike did a great job and deserves MVP. More power to the Super Eagles!

#SpainVsChile - Spain Out of The World Cup After Losing to Chile
Spain, the defending champions at the on-going world cup in Brazil have lost their second group match to Chile today, ending their run at the mundial.
The Spanish national team failed in their attempt to win a second successive World Cup after Chile defeated them with 2 goals to Nil. This means that the team has been eliminated even though they still have one group game to play. With this defeat for Spain, they have become the third reigning champion to be knocked out in the group stage in the last four World Cups.
France dropped out at the same stage in 2002, with Italy going the same way in 2010. Brazil was the defending champions in 2006 World Cup, and only managed to make it to the Quarter-Finals. Seems like winning the World Cup is bad luck for the defending champions come the next time around.
Are Football Players Allowed To Have Sex While at the World Cup? See Country List
Every World Cup coach has his own methods for trying to improve the success of his team. Some coaches have imposed rules on their players not only covering their training regimen and on-field tactics, but also on their after-hours activities.
While researchers have found that sex is no physical detriment to athletic performance, some coaches are unconvinced. The chart above shows where the individual country teams come down on their players’ bedroom activities during the World Cup.
Some teams have explicit policies about player sex that they’ve shared publicly, and Quartz has done a post collecting all the available information. As you can see from the chart above, Nigeria falls under, "It's complicated"
