When The Ice Bucket Challenge Goes Wrong - #IceBucketChallenge

Posted in: , , ,

First, we saw Bill Gates develop a pulley system to do the challenge after he was tagged by Mark Zuckerberg who did it the old fashioned way. Then there was Oprah and other African American celebrities. On a sad note, we read of the man who died of a heart attack after doing the challenge.

But this is the funniest post about the #ALS #IceBucketChallenge, believe me.

From people falling down because their buckets are too heavy, to the buckets falling down and bashing them over the head, there's that and more cases of the Ice Bucket Challenge going wrong.

Enjoy and get some laughs :)

Don Lemon CNN Anchor On 5 Things Black People Should Be Doing To Fix Racial Profiling

Posted in: , ,

CNN's Don Lemon hosting a townhall meeting on the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson is reminding many of comments he made after the Trayvon Martin's murder case. At that time, in talking about race, a lot of conservatives were asking why the media wasn't talking about other problems in the black community, especially the high rates of crime.

After the ruling on the case, Don Lemon felt it was time to address those issues and how to fix other ills that seem to be plaguing the community in general. He felt it was time for some tough love after Bill O'Reilly, FOX News host called out "black on black crime", saying;

The reason there is so much violence and chaos in the black precincts is the disintegration of the African- American family. Raised without much structure, young black men often reject education and gravitate towards the street culture, drugs, hustling, gangs. Nobody forces them to do that, again, it is a personal decision.

Don Lemon responded by saying, "He's got a point. In fact, he's got more than a point. In my estimation, he doesn't go far enough. Black people, if you really want to fix the problem, here's just five things that you should think about doing.

#Ferguson - If You Don't Want To Get Hurt, Don't Challenge Me - Cop Writes In Open Letter

By Sunil Dutta

A teenager is fatally shot by a police officer; the police are accused of being bloodthirsty, trigger-happy murderers; riots erupt. This, we are led to believe, is the way of things in America.

It is also a terrible calumny; cops are not murderers. No officer goes out in the field wishing to shoot anyone, armed or unarmed. And while they’re unlikely to defend it quite as loudly during a time of national angst like this one, people who work in law enforcement know they are legally vested with the authority to detain suspects — an authority that must sometimes be enforced. Regardless of what happened with Mike Brown, in the overwhelming majority of cases it is not the cops, but the people they stop, who can prevent detentions from turning into tragedies.

Working the street, I can’t even count how many times I withstood curses, screaming tantrums, aggressive and menacing encroachments on my safety zone, and outright challenges to my authority. In the vast majority of such encounters, I was able to peacefully resolve the situation without using force.
