By Sophie Addison

The skin is one of the most important parts of the body, and the importance is even more intense when you factor in keeping up the health and beauty. This is because it is the part that makes up your image and the general measure of your wellbeing. Many people are probably obsessed with getting a glowing and flawless skin.
However, you may never get to enjoy the benefits of a beautiful skin due to factors like smoking, alcohol and the sun, which are capable of causing darkening, drying and wrinkles on your skin and hence render it unattractive. However, among these three, it is the sun that you should be most wary of. This is because it does not only pose the danger of damaged skin, but also that of skin cancer.

Unlike the couple who had their engagement photoshoot in Blizzard above, not a lot of people are exactly fans of winters. Many find winters a nuisance because it causes so many issues. Like for example, going to work or school is a challenge because of the heaps of snow on the road. You’ll see numerous individuals who frown upon the word winter, but none the less, I personally feel winter is the most romantic season of the year. There’s love in the air and it’s a perfect time for couples to spend time together and engage in fun activities.

Posted in: , , , , ,
Having a baby can be very expensive, and new parents need ways to save their piggy bank! With baby clothes, formula or baby food, diapers, high chairs and strollers, and more, there are many things new babies need - and that’s after the hospital visits that took bringing your new bundle of joy into the world!  Not only that, but there are also unexpected expenses of having a new baby, such as additional trips to your pediatrician for health check-ups and rounds of immunization shots. You can give your baby the care she or he needs without breaking the bank.

Having a new baby means changing your buying habits and lifestyle. Some ways to save with a baby include going thrift shopping for baby furniture, and using regular shampoo and soap rather than what’s marketed as for babies. A good deal of specialty items branded for babies will be significantly more expensive than their “adult” counterparts.

A “Perfect” Female Body?

Posted in: , , ,

According to the media and Hollywood, the perfect female body is one that is pretty much stick thin and has no curves. If you agree with Hollywood, I got some news flash for you. In most cases, this is NOT the perfect body, and it certainly isn’t what most men in most of the world are looking for. Being skinny doesn’t necessarily mean beautiful. In fact, it can make many people look underfed and sickly (No offense to the skinny ladies out there).
While obesity is also not the answer, most people still prefer a woman with a few extra pounds than one who is underweight. Don’t forget, most of us will never be famous, nor are we trying to impress the media. So, why are so many of us trying to achieve a body shape that is almost non-achievable, worldly unattractive and that could make us unhealthy? Rather than striving for skinny, maybe it is time to start striving for a beautiful hourglass figure.

Most of the news this weekend out of north-east United States has been about the #snowpocalypse with the New York governor banning cars out on the roads. But that did not deter Felicia Sam and David Nartey from Baltimore who had always wanted snow pictures for their engagement photoshoot.

The couple had got engaged in October and wanted unique photos to send back to family in Ghana. So they drove up to Maryland, where they met up with Nigerian wedding photographer, Dotun Ayodeji, who got amazing photos of the couple playing in the snow. The photos have been trending on the internet after being picked up by ABC News and Buzzfeed. See more photos below...

How Long Do You Wait After a First Date Before Calling Back?

Posted in: ,

A survey performed by the company LoveGeist was commissioned by Match.com last year, and it found that after a first date on a Saturday evening, most daters will get in touch by 11:48 AM on Monday with a call or text. Thus, 1.52 days is now the average time spent waiting for a follow-up message. The three-day rule is now cut in half! (I don’t, however, recommend a first date on a Saturday night, especially a first online date. A weeknight or Sunday evening date works well, and then if you want to see each other again, you can plan for the coveted Friday or Saturday night slot when you already know you have some chemistry. Remember, sometimes it’s better to be a PSP than a DO.)

Why People Worry That Depression Will Ruin Their Marriage

Posted in: , , ,

If you are suffering depression, then it is likely to affect even those in your social network. For this reason, depression can affect both the sufferer and his or her marriage.  If untreated in the right time, depression can destroy many aspects of an individual’s life.  Friendships, work, relationships and domestic life are some of the aspects that can suffer adverse effects from depression.
If your partner suffers depression, then your relationship is likely to suffer. If you are living with a person with the condition, being cautious and understanding the person's situation are advised. The best or advisable thing to do, however, is to encourage the person to take medication and visit a doctor regularly for monitoring of the condition. Professionals like counselors can be of help also.
