South Africa has apologized over Nigerian Deportations

Posted in:
From the tone of the South African Minister and the said apology, it seems Nigeria got the upper hand, and SA is eating humble pie, according to this report - South Africa apologizes over Nigerian deportations, faults airport health officials - The Washington Post,

I do hope that even as the two countries have ended the impasse, the Nigerian government, especially our Ministry of Health will come away with some lessons, and use this opportunity to beef up our Health Systems as regards vaccination and reporting and information systems. Maybe in future, some of us would be more wary of cutting corners too.

  1. The concluding paragraph hits well and very truthful too. I just hope the government learns from this. But have they always done that in the past - I mean learning from situations?

  3. First they realised they were wrong the sitaution could have been handled differently...second and most important they have way too much at stake in Nigeria in terms of business and investments not to apologise. Its time Nigerian billionaires built their own version of MTN, DSTV, Shoprite and all those SA brands in the country. Look at Kenya for example only three hours away they have never been able to penetrate that market they tried a few years ago with Castle breweries and were quickly ran out of the country by East African Breweries, MTN is availabel inneighbouring Uganda but has never been able to hack kenya since they have their own network which is huge Safaricom...back to the issue SA really needs to look into its diplomatic relations with the rest of the continent they have this superiority complex going on and especially towards black africans

    1. From what I read in other articles on the issue, it seems you're right. I hope they can work on it.
