Hello everyone, I am now back home and so knackered. So my trip back home takes about 24hrs altogether and at the end, I was feeling like a zombie. I've had some sleep now but still jet-lagged. I'm now thinking of the whole travel experience and how it wasn't so bad. I was freaked out each time we had some turbulence though, I pray God clears my mind of the fear I've had since that Dana Crash.
The food on both the international legs of the trip - going and coming - was OK. And it's nice it comes twice knowing the American airlines no longer give any refreshments except water, and maybe juice or tea. I tried to walk around the plane but still my feet were swollen and my toes looked like stumps by the time we landed, LOL...
I thank God for journey mercies and am so glad to be back with my sweetie, yes o Honeydame :), e no easy.
Over to you guys, what has been your best and/or worst travel and flight experience?
PS - I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone of you for sticking around even when you knew I was in and out of my blog. Many thanks too to those I met in Lagos, some of whom went out of their way to see me, mwah! I hope to get about more during my next visit, Abuja, Port Harcourt, etc, see you then.
Mynew, welcome back dear. Hope u had a great time. Me I hate flying. And the Dana crash didn't help at all. Each time I fly, I have a big massive bible open on my laps and chant psalm 91 through out the flight ( to the chagrin of the person sitting next to me!). hehe

I really don't hate flying but recently, I find myself asking what we're doing up there 30,000+ feet above the ground :)
Deleteℓ☺ℓ @ chanting Ps91.
DeleteWelcome back Myne..trusting you had an awesome time..Did u bring me kilishi or suya or indomie?
ReplyDeleteMy worst flight experience was when I flew with the national carrier of the country I am in enroute to london then Naija..OMGoosh.Talk of food poisonng*-* Oh I forgot to mention the baby onboard that was crying all through :O, the audio for the TV wasnt working so the air hostess said I should use my neighours own cos he was sleeping :O.. It was so bad that my connecting flight to Nigeria wasnt sure if I could fly with them, I was the last person to board the plane plus my bags. I finally understood why you must have cash on you wherever u are going. On getting to Heathrow I had to buy medication oh. Then on the flight to Naija, there was no space for my carryon luggage :O because the queens and kings of England couldnt hold their handbags and laptop bag.
Because it was a long haul flight which took around 24hrs too with yamayama transit time, I could not eat cos I was scared and sick. When I reach Naija, I looked like I was robbed and thrown to the side of the road, to the extent that my uncle pass me by at Lagos airport -_-..My sister asked if I was really coming from my original departure country...
Wow, that must have been a scary experience. I'm thankful sometimes that my tummy seems made of cast iron, when I travel it's usually the other way around :(
Deletelol i am usually nervous few days before the flight but once am onboard i relax i only get a bit tense during takeoff and landing moreso takeoff coz the plane is more likely to come down at this point than midair...plus it helps that my bestie is a flight attendant with a European regional airline she has four takeoffs and landings a day i usually just think about her and smile she made flying much easier for me i try to imagine i am her and this is my job that puts food on the table a roof over my head and then i relax throughout the flight...worst experience had to sit next to a really smelly dude on a six hour flight and the plane was full!!!
ReplyDeleteI was looking at the air crew this time and really cheering them on. Not an easy job at all. As for the smelly dude, oh my...
Deleteoh best experience once got upgraded to First class on a flight back to London that was great!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I would love that too! One day I have to try that first class :)
Deleteglad to know you had a safe trip back.
ReplyDeleteMy worst travel experience, had to be flying a week after the dana crash. i'v always had no fear of flying before, so it was a bad, scary, nervous feeling.
Best has to be KLM to Amsterdam, i loved the sky blue uniform of the pleasant crew and the food was good and the flight was turbulence free.
The best of it, non talkative seat mates
Thank you Doll. Thank you Doll, I used to have no fear of flying before, and I hope this passes soon.
DeleteMyne, even though I never got to meet you, it was great having you here, and hearing your pleas about Nepa! Lol.
ReplyDeleteThank God for journey mercy.
Thanks Zouzou, lol...Nepa improved just when I was about to leave :)
DeleteThank God for journey mercies and it was a pleasure meeting you!!
ReplyDeleteWorst flight experience was a local one. A guy on my flight was flying for the first time and started hyperventilating, farting basically having a panic attack. It was bad. I was close to him and I felt really sorry for him...
Best flight experience... None stands out but I think the food on the virgin Atlantic flight I was on the last time I travelled was fantastic enough for me to remember it :)
Worst flying experience would be on the Virgin Nigeria flight from Abuja to Lagos, the landing was so abrupt that I was so scared.
ReplyDeleteBest has been my upgrade to Business class both for my trip to Dubai and final trip out of India...awesome
Ma first time taking a flight was last month. I wasn't enthusiastic, I wasn't afraid, I just wanted to close ma eyes and be at ma destination on opening them. I wondered about the dana Flight all through. It was an evening one and I had had a busy day and would have loved even a 15mins nap but dint dream of it. The 2nd flight was better, I was more relaxed.
ReplyDeleteNo matter the Dana Air crash...I still find Air travel more more convenient than applying Road..
