Couple Love - Chimamanda Adichie and Ivara Esege

Posted in: , ,

Chimamanda Adichie, award winning writer, has been happily married to Ivara Esege, a medical doctor, for several years now. She describes him as Nigerian, American and British, and they divide their time between Nigeria and America. Chimamanda is a self proclaimed feminist, and while most Nigerians have a distorted view of the word, and the opinion that feminists are man-haters, that is of course not true. The above picture was taken at the last Farafina Literary Evening in Lagos. Another picture below...

    4. Is it that people cannot read anymore or what? Ugo asked a rhetorical question! She meant that he doesn't have to be her handbag.

  11. The idiot that is calling this man a handbag does not know the cloth he is cut from. Dr Esege is a Nigerian. Grew up in a close knit middle class very well respected family in Enugu. Lost his beloved parents many years ago in one day in a tragic auto accident. Only sister is also a beautiful woman who is also a doctor. His parents were the envy of many a couple in Enugu those days. The we kids used to wish our cocoyam head parents were loving to each other like his parents were.

    1. Breath in and relax. Nobody called him a handbag. Go back up and re-read what the person wrote.
