"The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in an extremely confined space." In the Corridor by Uche Peter Umez
They ran into each other in the corridor, yet again. And both paused to exchange pleasantries, as usual.
‘Madam, how na?’ Mr. Chidi said, wondering why she liked wearing dresses that bulged her breasts.
‘Fine, Oga Sir,’ Mrs. Nkechi replied, wondering why he seemed to act proper in her presence.
‘Lovely bre…dress.’
‘Thanks.’
Then Mrs. Nkechi smiled. ‘Anything?’
Mr. Chidi arched an eyebrow, then said, ‘Em, no. Take care.’
And as Mrs. Nkechi brushed past him – her breast catching his elbow meaningfully, Mr. Chidi wondered if the pleasures would ever outweigh the guilt that came with being unfaithful to your partner.
