Actor Steven Bauer is 57 and dating 18-year-old Lyda Loudon, and for many, their May-December romance looks too much like robbing the cradle considering, she's barely legal.
Lyda is said to have first had a falling out with her parents, though they've now reconciled, because they disapproved of their daughter seeing a man old enough to be her grandfather.
Her mother, author Gina Gentry Loudon, wrote a blog about the couple, saying:
"My daughter’s choice has challenged me. In perspective, this was a choice regarding love. She did not choose to break the law, harm an innocent or betray our country. Several friends asked us to consider whether love really is a choice. Others beseeched us to embrace that she found a special love with a special, gentle man. These were defining questions."What do you think of their relationship? As they say, some people are much more mature for their age, while others are younger than they look. So is age just a number?
Steven Bauer is best known for his role in 'Scarface' and met his teenage girlfriend in July after they both attended the 'Magic In The Moonlight' premiere.
Steve was previously married to Melanie Griffith, but divorced in 1987 after five years of marriage. The two have a son together, Alexander, who's 10 years older than Loudon. He later married another two times, both relationships eventually ending up in divorce.
No, age is not just a number. Age is much more than just a number. I'd be terribly unhappy if a man older than me is my daughter's lover, desperately, terribly unhappy. But I love the way her mother is spoken up for her daughter in public and defended her daughter's choices. She is indeed a beautiful mother. She may be hurting but she will defend her child. That's priceless.

If she was 30 and him 70, I wouldn't blink, but this is sure child abuse. I sure hope tey not having sex and he's just a father figure sugar daddy. This is just so messy! I feel for the mom.
