British Deputy High Commissioner Slumps And Dies at MMIA Lagos
On Tuesday afternoon, a British diplomat, Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Peter Carter Leslie, slumped and died at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.
The diplomat was said to have disembarked from a United Airlines Flight UA143 at 3.50 pm local time, and died shortly after.
Before he slumped, he reportedly cried out for help, but no one came to his aid because they feared he may have Ebola.
It is suspected that he may have died of heart-related complications.
New reports reveal that Leslie was gasping for breath as he was leaving the aircraft.
Officials from British High Commission and the Port Health Services tried to revive him with oxygen, but unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful.
May his soul rest in peace.
