Just last week was the account here of a grandma that took a little girl from the UK to Nigeria without the mother's permission, and news such as this alert one to how such domestic disputes over child custody cases can degenerate.
Traymont B. Burton, 21, went on a murderous rampage over a custody dispute last week, shooting his ex-girlfriend, Michelle S. Kelly, 22, their toddler, and a mediator. He then turned the gun on himself, taking his own life in an apparent four-way murder-suicide.
Burton shot and killed 19-year-old Adreena D. Gary outside his ex's home and then went inside and gunned down former girlfriend and their two-year old son, Keytrell Kelly, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
The young mom, Michelle Kelly was described as doting on her son, according to cousin Shaheem Simmons on Facebook.
"She was more like my sister. We lived together my whole life as a child. I watched her grow as a woman. If you knew her you knew she was sweet, respectful, caring, drama free and a mother — a real mom."
Adreena Gary is said to be a community college student who was working toward a criminal justice degree and hoped to become a lawyer. She was only was trying to mediate the child custody dispute between Burton and Kelly when she was killed.
The teenager's family have opened a fundraiser for her funeral with sister Andrea Gary saying on the GoFundMe page;
My 19 year old sister Adreena Gary was brutally murdered in a quadruple homicide-suicide before her life even began. Adreena was a college student enrolled at J. Seargent Reynolds Community College where she was pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. Her plans were to someday become a lawyer! Adreena was a fun, loving, warm-hearted individual who stopped at no end to help those around her. In fact the night she was killed she happened to be helping a friend through a domestic dispute. Our humble family is crying out for donations so that Adreena's expenses at the cemetery may be fulfilled as well as being honored an appropriate headstone. No donation is to small as we need all the help we can get during this unexpected tragedy.
May their souls rest in peace. Amen.
