Muhammadu Buhari, the APC presidential candidate, has just become the official winner of the just concluded 2015 presidential elections. With the announcement of the final results from Borno State, Buhari officially emerged as president-elect of Nigeria. It took days and hours for INEC to get all the results as the electoral officials travelled into Abuja by air and road after the collating results at the local government levels.
Incumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan, has already conceded defeat in a phone call to his opponent hours ago, a gesture that has been hailed as historic and which has cemented him as a champion of democracy. There is no doubt that with a smooth transition in May, GEJ's role as a elder statesman would've been solidified. Congratulations to both GMB and GEJ, they have played well.
