It seems like only a minute since he was down on one knee, offering you a diamond ring! The months fly by, and you’re only a few weeks away from the biggest day of your life. One month before the wedding is when the nerves start to kick in. It’s when the stress starts to build up, as everything must come together perfectly.
Dress rehearsal
A couple of weeks before the big day, you and the groom need to make sure everything fits like a glove. Brides, you should set an appointment with your beauty specialists to test your hair and makeup. Most bridal packages offer an initial appointment to try a few styles before you choose. Make sure you do this in advance. Guys, you need to try your suit on again (make sure you haven’t put any weight on!). It’s also worth booking a hair appointment, and making sure everything is in place before the big day.
Practice the first dance!
Take this from an experienced bride, please make sure you practice your first dance! First of all, you have never danced in a wedding dress before. It’s not easy, so get a head start by practicing the moves. Also, some first dance songs do not lend themselves well to dancing! You’ll find this out the hard way when you’re swaying awkwardly in front of 100 people. Take a couple of nights to practice it, and plan your moves.
Confirm final details with vendors and catering
The caterers like to receive final numbers two weeks before the wedding. That way, they can order in all the right supplies, and start planning for your big day. Now is also the time to call all the vendors and confirm the exact details. That means calling your florist, DJ, venue managers, drivers, photographers etc.
Make a photography list
A lot of couples tell us their biggest regret is failing to make a photo list. This is a rough idea of the exact photos you want your photographer to capture. Make a list of family groups that you want to be taken, and choose a few perfect spots for you and the groom to take photos.
Stag and hen nights
A month before the wedding, it’s time for the bachelor and bachelorette party! Hopefully, the best man has some killer stag ideas in mind, while the maid of honour has something tasteful for the bride! We definitely advise leaving a couple of weeks in between the stag night and the wedding. Please don’t do this the night before the big day!
All that’s left to do is say your vows, and enjoy a long and happy life together! Congratulations!
