In one of the biggest hits of the early 1990s, Haddaway pondered the question that every person at some point in their lives has pondered: what is love? It is a question we all long for the answer to while we are single or have found ourselves in a new relationship. We want to know exactly what love is in order ensure we know what we are looking for, or if we have just found it.
Below is a list of things that may be signs that you have found true love, and have found the person you are set to spend the rest of your life with.
You can not stop thinking about him/her

Does the Beach Boys’ song “God Only Knows” remind you of your significant other? When you watch the film “Say Anything…” do you imagine yourself standing outside his/her house with a boombox blaring “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel? If you answered “yes” to these questions, you may have found true love.
If they are the first thing you think about when you wake up, and the last thing you think about when you go to bed at night, he/she could be “the one”. When the simple thought of him/her can put you in a good mood, it is clear that your relationship is built upon more than just physical attraction.
You trust one another

It is natural to be worried - to an extent - when your significant other goes on a night out without you, or goes on an extended holiday without you; but this should not psychologically cripple you. If it does, it is highly likely that you do not trust him/her enough to consider them to be “the one”. All great relationships are built upon strong foundations of trust. Ensure that you trust one another before considering saying “I love you” to one another.
Your family and friends like him/her

Always remember that your family and friends only want what is best for you, so value their opinion on your significant other. Ensure that you are with someone that your family and friends genuinely like, and feel that they are the right person for you.
You enjoy spending time with one another

An obvious, but wholly important, sign that you are in a worthwhile relationship. Having a lot in common with one another and enjoy travelling, going to dinner, getting coffee, watching movies etc. together, are strong signs that you may have in fact found true love. If you feel that you can be yourself around him/her, you can classify yourself as someone who has been lucky enough to have found your destined other half.
He/she is in your imagined future

When you think about the future, is the person you are currently in a relationship with in it? If the answer to this question is “yes”, then you may be with “the one”. If you can imagine a genuinely happy married life - with no need for divorce attorneys - you have likely found true love.
