A Time for Celebration: Tips for Arranging a Wedding Get Together

Posted in: , ,

Many extended families now find themselves spread around the country and that means when a special occasion like a wedding is being arranged you have to find a venue and location that gives everyone the chance to attend and enjoy a celebration.

Here are some of the main considerations that it’s best to think about when you are choosing your wedding venue and putting all your plans for a special day together.

Booking the date

Deciding to get married is a big decision that you normally take a bit of time to come around to in your relationship and the big day itself is not something you would often rush into either.

The normal lead-in time for arranging a wedding is at least 12 months and very often you might have to secure a popular venue longer than that to get the date you want.

If you are planning on booking somewhere like the Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel Manchester or a similar venue, it would be a good policy to inquire about the availability as soon as possible and get a provisional booking in place while you work on all the other aspects of the wedding that need to come together.

You can certainly put some wedding plans together in a shorter space of time but there might be a lot of added stress and a few unwelcome compromises if you don’t give yourself some breathing space on the date.

Budget is an important subject

We would all like to book a celebration like a wedding where money is no object and you can have whatever you want but the reality is that you need to set a realistic budget for your big day and do your very best to stick to it.

Work out how you can realistically afford to spend on the wedding and then commit to keeping your total bill below that number at all costs.

You don’t want to spend the day worrying about how much it has all cost but you don’t want it to feel like you have made too many compromises either.
There are often deals to be done on everything from the venue to catering, and if you shop around and ask each supplier to come up with their best price you should be able to trim a bit off the original estimated figure.

Ticking all the right boxes

It can be a challenge to bring everything together straight away so be prepared for a few setbacks and changes to your plans when you are booking and ordering everything to do with the wedding.

Check that the venue offers the space you need for the number of guests you intend to invite and whether it is in a good location for everyone to get there without any problems.

Make a comprehensive list of everything you need to organize and check them off the list as you get confirmation that it is sorted.

If you follow this tried tested approach and give yourself enough time you should be able to enjoy a successful and enjoyable wedding day.
