Sometimes these may seem like tiny amounts, but if you follow a policy of saving money across the board then every penny you can keep in your pocket can really add up.

Some of the savings you make are easy to implement and often require nothing more than changing a routine or taking a moment or two to think first.

#FourthofJuly is a holiday in the United States, and we got the day off work yesterday, with which Atala and I basically chilled out. OK, we went shopping at our local African store and then binge watched Sensate on Netflix. Who else has seen the show, and what did you think, we're currently on episode 9. I want to say too much sex, but that can possibly be a good thing, right? LOL...

Posted in: , , ,

By Jenna Brown

Why does it seem like most men are afraid of health related topics? From eating the right foods to paying a visit to the doctor, most men would rather not bother…That is until something goes wrong and they have no choice. When I was younger watching Claire try to encourage Heathcliff Huxtable from The Cosby Show to eat right, I never thought that it would become a reality. Fast-forward a few years, and I find myself nagging, yelling, and tricking my spouse into doing what’s right for his health.

By Chinelo Ngene

Calabar is the capital of Cross River State, Nigeria bordering Cameroon on one side. There are three rivers flowing through this region, the Cross River, Kwa River, and Calabar River, from which the city got its name.

What some call the tourist’s paradise, Calabar is a little city surrounded by hills and plateaus. The streets of Calabar are serene and tidy, like you would expect in a 21st century city and the people are shielded from the turmoil in the country by the acres of green land that surround it. With Valentine season fast approaching, Calabar is the perfect destination to escape to for a romantic weekend with your loved one.

Posted in: , , ,

The El Nino, also formally known as the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon, is a weather pattern which usually happens once every 3 to 7 years. Its main characteristic is the warming of the waters of the eastern section of the Pacific Ocean. This results in floods and droughts in different parts of the world, which, in turn, causes extensive damage to lives and property.

In the northern part of the world, the areas most vulnerable to the effects of this phenomenon are Mexico and the  United States of America. Rihanna has been trying to keep cool this summer wearing mostly sleeveless outfits that sometimes look like nightwear or lingerie. But for the afternoons, her go to outfit is her very short daisy dukes, also known as jorts (jean shorts).

Rihanna first stepped out in the pair of cutoff denim shorts with slits and tags up the sides on August 19 when she paired it with a black crop top while out to a New York restaurant in Greenwich Village.

7 Weight Loss Tips That Are Completely False

Posted in: , , ,

Losing weight is tricky enough without having to figure out which pointers are the real deal and which are full of hot air. The following tips are a bit shaky, beware!

1. Eat Lots of Mini Meals Throughout the Day
You’ve heard that you should eat several small meals a day to lose weight—but no. Counting calories actually matters more than how many meals you eat daily, according to a new study.

2. Watch Your Scale Like a Hawk
A recent study found that women who put the emphasis on the process of dropping pounds rather than the number on the scale actually have better luck.

Meet Larue Drummond - The Woman With The 14-Inch Long Nails

Posted in: , ,

Larue Drummond, 54-year-old mother of four, used to be a chronic nail biter as a child, biting her nails to her cuticles until they bled. But according to Larue all that changed when she met a woman at the super market with long nails, who told her, 'when you look after your nails, they will look after you.'

She stopped biting her nails and began to grow them long. Eight years ago, the big fan of nail art decided to stop cutting her nails entirely and has spent not less than $10,000 since then to maintain them.

Some people are very curious about how Ms Drummond manages everyday tasks with her 14-inch talon and she insists she cooks and does other everyday tasks easily. She said:

‘People stop me wherever I go and ask about my nails. I'm always happy to talk about them.
‘The most frequently asked question is how do I go to the bathroom. I tell them, “the same way as you do. If you know of another way, let me know.”’
