Davido For Young Person of The Year As Nominees Unveiled In The Future Africa Awards 2014

After a full year receiving nominations from across Africa, The Future Africa Awards has today released the Nominees List for 2014.

The list – of five nominees each – is released for the 10 categories of the awards. Davido is nominated for the African Young Person of the Year, Ese Odiete of Hesey Designs is up for Prize in Business while Ice Prince vies for the Prize in Entertainment.

The list is not as Nigerian-dominated as has been in earlier years of the Future Awards. Last year, only the Young Person of the Year was Africa-wide, this time that the entire awards have been drawn from across the continent.

David Beckham and Sons Slimed at the Nickelodeon Awards - They Got It In Gold! [Photos]

In a tradition of the awards, the Beckhams got slimed at the Nicklodeon Kids Choice Awards, but guess what, instead of the regular green slime, they got a golden slime.

David Beckham and his two sons, Romeo and Cruz had golden goo dripping from their bodies after they were slimed at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Beckham had come on stage with his boys Romeo and Cruz to take part in a skit, but they got more than that as the trio were bathed with the thick slimy gold liquid.

Top 12 Couples From The 2014 ESPY Awards Red Carpet

At first I didn't know what but ESPY means 'Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly' and is an annual Award for those in sports, the equivalent of an Oscar. 

So which couples are we featuring? First of all... Introduction. Are Weezy and Christina Milan dating?

Rapper Lil Wayne's looked "coupled-up" with Christina Milian at the 2014 ESPY Awards on Wednesday evening and they have set tongues wagging on Twitter, asking if the two are dating. Here on RML, I say let them be, they are label mates and probably there on business. Holding hands, you ask? Hehehe...

Beyonce Leads With 8 Nominations For 3 Different Videos At The MTV Video Music Awards

Do you remember those videos that Beyonce released on the same day last December as part of her self-titled surprise album? Well, 3 of the videos have earned Beyoncé eight nominations at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

Her videos for "Pretty" Hurts," "Partition" and "Drunk in Love" (featuring Jay Z) all snagged nominations, with Drunk in Love nominated for Video of the Year.

Emmy Awards - Uzo Aduba, Orange is The New Black Nominated, GoT and Downton Abbey Face Off

They were favorites at the TV critics awards last month, and now Uzoamaka Aduba speaks on their Netflix show "Orange is the New Black" getting 12 nominations for the Emmy Awards;

"I'm just really truly grateful that they've chosen to recognize the entire cast. We're Team Orange all the way...We just got back to work and it's been really exciting to be back because we've really just been able to see each other. It feels like the first day of school." 

Uzo Aduba, is nomited for guest actress in a comedy series along with two other actresses in Orange Is the New Black. Uzo is born of Nigerian parents and attended Boston University, earning recognition for her acting with a performance in Translations of Xhosa, in 2003.

Several couples stepped out together for the BET Awards which held last night in LA. 

The “BET Awards ’14 drew the biggest names in music, entertainment and sports, with appearances by Gabrielle Union, Keke Palmer, Regina Hall, Larenz Tate, Nicki, Minaj, Kerry Washington, Bow Wow, Keshia Chante, Eva Marcille, Terrence Jenkins, and Keyshia Cole.

There was also Mike Tyson, Nick Cannon, Zendaya, DeSean Jackson, Boris Kodjoe, Gary Owen, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chadwick Boseman, Tyrese and Nate Parker among others.

Davido Wins BET Award for Best African Act, Shares Photo From Pre-Event Taping

Davido has won the 2014 BET Award for Best African Act, which was revealed at a pre-event taping in Los Angeles ahead of the main award ceremony on Sunday night. 

A grateful Davido shared the picture of his statue with fans saying,

"Thanks to all my fans!! WE WON @BETAwards BEST AFRICAN ACT 2014!! so happy!! Time to party!”

Congrats to him! But we have to ask, when will BET add the African Act category to those shown live on air during the main Awards show?

Nigeria was well represented in the roll call for winners at the just concluded MTV Africa Music Awards. Davido took home two awards, for Best Male and Artist of the Year. Tiwa Savage won Best Female Artist. Video director Clarence Peters won two awards – Transform Today by Absolut, and Best Video. Flavor took the Best Live Act. See full list below.

 The 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards are currently going on in Durban, South Africa and most African music acts and some of their African American counterparts are present and representing. Among the stars at the MAMAs are Tiwa Savage and husband TeeBillz Tunde Balogun, and Khloe Kardashian is also there with French Montana, as the two are said to be dating. Lots of stars turned out on the red carpet for the Billboard Music Awards, and many came with their partners. Rihanna won big at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, and she was famously rocking her hair in Bantu knots. The singer went home with four gongs - the award for Best Hip Hop/R&B Song Of The Year for Pour It Up, Best Fan Army, for her Rihanna Navy, Song Of The Year for Stay, and Artist of The Year. I loved Stay and still play it on repeat many times. Congrats to her, and her bantu knots look great!

As a filmmaker, with many years of experience to my credit, I know good acting when I see it. Acting is inborn while talent is general but depth in acting is few among actors.
