Miss World Pageant Abolishes Bikini Segment

After almost 65 years of the Miss World pageants, and just as more and more public figures are embracing showing off more skin in public, the organizers of the premier beauty pageant in the world have turned their back on the nudity trend.

The Miss World pageant owners have announced that there will be no swimsuit segment starting from next year's competition. The organization’s chairwoman Julia Morley made the announcement recently.

Miss South Africa Emerges Miss World 2014!

Miss World 2014 has been declared and she is Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss! Miss Hungary Edina Kulcsar was named runner-up, while Miss United States Elizabeth Safrit came third in the contest. Miss Thailand won the People’s Choice Award. The top five semi-finalists included Hungary, Australia, United States, South Africa and England.

A winner has been selected as Brazil's best bottom from the Miss Bumbum 2014 contest. Toned and curvy Indianara Carvalho, was voted by a panel of judges in Sao Paulo yesterday to beat competition from 14 just as suited rivals. 8 Finalists Emerge For Miss BumBum Brazil 2014 [Beach Photos]

8 women out of the 27 contestants that were selected for Miss Bum Bum Brazil 2014 have now been revealed as the finalists after months of voting. The booty-ful women were at the beach November 6th, for a bikini photo shoot as they prepare for the the pageant which holds in a weeks time.

Miss BumBum Brazil Contestants In New Lingerie Photoshoot To Celebrate 1 Million Votes

The 27 women who have been selected to compete for the title of Miss Bum Bum Brazil 2014 - a competition that offers a $22,000 prize and seeks to find Brazil's finest example of the female bottom, have done a new photoshoot.

The pageant released new lingerie pics of the contestants to say thank you for reaching one million votes in the competition. The initial photos were in bikinis, see here.

Online voting will determine 15 finalists from the 27 ladies vying for this year's title. The finale will hold in Sao Paulo, Brazil in November.

Friday Man Candy - Emmanuel Ikubese is Mr Nigeria 2014

Last month, actor and model Emmanuel Ikubese beat out other contestants to win the 2014 Mr Nigeria title. As he prepares to represent Nigeria at the Mr World contest, he released these new pictures to promote the pageant. The actor who appeared as Femi in the second and third seasons of the Shuga series, is great eye candy, and we wish him the best at the competition.

While I support beauty competitions, I believe they should be for adults, and with the introduction of Male Pageants, I doubt anyone can still point to gender bias in such contests. But pageants for little girls, and especially in the way they are carried out, still leave a lot to be desired.
