Sherri Shepherd's Surrogate Speaks Out For First Time About Abandoned Baby

Sherri Shepherd had her son via IVF at 38 and when at 45 she couldn't get pregnant same way, she and former husband Lamar Sally turned to surrogacy to build their family using egg donor. However, their marriage broke down while the surrogate was still pregnant, read here. Sherri later alleged that Lamar had defrauded her into signing the papers so that he would get custody after their divorce and milk her for child support payments since she was the bigger earner.

Based on this, the former co-host of The View decided to hands-off the new baby especially since her genetic material was not used. Unfortunately, this meant the surrogate mother got left in the lurch as the only mother of the child.

Sherri Shepherd Set to Reject Her Unborn Surrogate Baby?

Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally are going through a separation [read here], and new reports are saying Sherri does not want anything to do with her unborn surrogate baby? 

TMZ says it's because she believes her estranged husband defrauded her into having the kid in the first place so he could get child support. But I think even if the baby was conceived with Lamar's sperm, and not Sherri's egg as the reports say, I still find it hard to believe.

I doubt that  that Sherri, who the report says tried to get pregnant in vitro and when it didn't work she got deeply involved in the surrogacy process, would then bail this far into the journey!

Sherri Shepherd Steps Out - Talks About Divorce From Lamar Sally, and Moving Forward

Sherri Shepherd filed for divorce from husband Lamar Sally last month after he first filed for legal separation and began a custody battle to get their baby is due via surrogate on July 28. Sherri hopes to dust herself off and 'try not to make the same mistake' again now that she's moving on from her marriage of nearly three years, The View host told US Weekly at the Samsung Hope For Children Gala in New York City on Tuesday.

'I say you can't beat yourself up. When you know you've made the wrong choice in a guy you look, you do some introspective work, and you try not to make the same mistake.

If you do, get back up, dust your feet off, and start walking and moving forward.'

The View co-host filed for divorce on May 2 and has also asked for full legal and physical custody of her yet-to-be-born baby in the proceedings.

Sherri Shepherd, a co-host on "The View", and her husband Lamar Sally are announced to be legally separated and heading for divorce. Lamar Sally and Sherri Shepherd were married in 2011 at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago, and I remember watching clips and pictures from the wedding on an episode of The View. They looked so happy and in love, so I can just imagine how sad this time must be for them.
