White South African Students in Blackface Spark Debate On Racism And Apartheid
Two students from the University of Pretoria shared this picture of them in blackface and dressed in domestic worker costumes as a joke on Facebook.
However, the picture has sparked a massive debate on social media sites after it went viral, reigniting the age-old conversation on racism in South Africa and the ghost of Apartheid.
The photo was quickly deleted, but already some people had made screen grabs and it swiftly disseminated on Twitter, sparking outrage among black people everywhere.
Former BBA Housemates Pokello and Fiance Elikem Take A Beach Vacation
Pokello from Zimbabwe and Elikem from Ghana met while they were on Big Brother Africa: The Chase, in South Africa last year. The couple who got engaged back in May are currently vacationing in Rwanda, in the city of Kigali.

US Surveillance Planes Searching For Abducted Chibok Girls Spot Several Groups
U.S. surveillance flights over northeastern Nigeria, had twice in July showed what appeared to be large groups of girls held together in remote locations.
This has raised hopes among domestic and foreign officials that these girls are among the group that Boko Haram abducted from the Chibok boarding school in April.
According to the Wall Street Journal,
The surveillance suggests that at least some of the 219 schoolgirls still held captive haven't been forced into marriage or sex slavery, as had been feared, but instead are being used as bargaining chips for the release of prisoners.

Nigerian Government Declares Ebola A Matter of National Emergency
The Federal government has declared the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria a matter of national Emergency, adding that everyone is now at risk of being infected.
Speaking with State House correspondence at the end of today's Federal Executive Council meeting, the Minister of Health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu said the Nigerian government has written to the Director of the United State Centre for Disease Control to request for the release of some of the unapproved ZMAG drug which has proven to be useful in the treatment of the Ebola disease.
He said the Federal government awaits a response from the United state government and hopeful if the drugs are released, they could be used to treat the confirmed cases of the Ebola virus disease in Nigeria.

British Airways Suspends Flights To And From Ebola-Hit West Africa
On concerns of Ebola outbreak, The British Airways has suspended flights to and from Liberia and Sierra Leone until the end of August.
Customers can get a refund or rearrange their flight for a later date. Since the outbreak of the Ebola virus, there has been a trepidation for the spread of the virus to the international communities.
The Liberian government in response to the cancelation said “it regretted BA's decision, but added: "We fully understand that international airlines must keep the safety of customers and crew as their highest priority."
