Lagos Government Warns About Fake Ebola Test Kit That Gives Results in 10 Mins

The Lagos State Government has warned Lagosians and other citizens in the country not to fall victim to suspected fraudsters who were selling a kit that allegedly could be used to test for Ebola Virus.

The government, in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mr. Hakeem Bello, explained that the reality on ground was that there was nothing like that. Adding that the product, which was called Rapid Response Canada, was nothing but a hoax to rip-off unsuspecting Nigerians of their earned money.

Test results from the kit are purportedly available in 10 minutes.

Bello stated that there are no Ebola test kits manufactured anywhere in the world and that the technique for its manufacture does not exist yet. He urged the members of the public not to patronise sellers of such dubious product

Mercy Johnson has sent off her first child, daughter Purity off to school. The actress shared these pictures on her Twitter page yesterday. Mercy is in the States to have her second child, and has decided to put Purity in daycare so as to have more time to herself.

Funmi Akingbade - Nigerian Men Rush Sex And Rarely Stop to Please Their Women

Sex Therapist, pastor Funmi Akingbade says the average Nigerian man is not the most patient lover. In an interview with City People magazine, pastor Akingbade said Nigerian men see foreplay and other activities before intercourse as a waste of time. She says to have a bliss marital life, great sex must be incorporated and that the woman should not be seen as an object just to 'release' into.

How would you describe the Nigerian man when it comes to sex?

The Nigerian man is always in a rush when it comes to sex. They rush into it and quickly rush out once they "come". Every driver that wants an accident-free trip must drive safely, know his road signs, have good driving skills and be a good observer.

This is also true with sex because marital sex is a journey and not to be done in a rush. Those who want to succeed in marriage give their sex life a lot of attention and sex is what makes it different and wonderful. So, for no reason must a spouse "beg" or "plead" for sex from her partner. Rather, good sex should be given mutually at all times"

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi and his 4 wives celebrated his 76th birthday recently [here], and have been photographed as they went shopping in London, at the Westfield Mall.

The wives treated their husband (the King) to a relaxing manicure whilst onlookers were posing for pictures with Nigeria's foremost Royals. They later relaxed with a movie at VUE cinemas.

DJ Abass was also spotted bowing to the King as well as other Nigerians and non-Nigerians who came across the royal family all dressed in similar attire.

Joan Rivers Out Of Intensive Care - Daughter Asks For Prayers

Joan Rivers' daughter, Melissa Rivers has provided another update about her mother's condition in a new statement, released Wednesday, Sept. 3. She says the 81-year-old comedienne has been transferred to a private room at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. The statement reads;

My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support." 

Melissa had said in a statement a couple of days earlier;

"My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world. Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery."

Third American Doctor To Contract Ebola Identified As Rick Sacra

The third American to have contracted Ebola has been named as 51-year-old veteran doctor Rick Sacra who volunteered to go to Liberia when Writebol and Brantly tested positive. Bruce Johnson, the president of SIM USA, revealed this in a press conference yesterday.

Johnson said his group was cooperating with US health authorities to determine how Sacra, who is from Massachusetts, got sick.

While stressing there was no confirmation at this time, Johnson said there was a chance Sacra — who had been working in obstetrics at the SIM-funded ELWA hospital — caught the virus from someone who had yet to show signs of the disease.

“They check patients at our hospital before admittance for Ebola symptoms and there’s a strong possibility that the Ebola symptoms were masked and not presenting themselves with a particular patient who was admitted and cared for and possibly this was how Dr Sacra contracted it.”
