Joan Rivers was a comedian to the end, as it was reported that she was joking about death and funeral just the day before she was admitted to hospital. The late actress and TV host also wrote about funerals in her 2012 book, I Hate Everyone...Starting With Me, of which the above is an excerpt :)

Court Freezes Accounts of Aliko Dangote's Younger Brother and Dansa Foods In 20 Banks

Aliko Dangote's younger brother, Sani Dangote, has had all his accounts frozen due to non-payment of bank loans. A Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday ordered 20 Commercial banks in Nigeria to dishonour all withdrawal cheques from Sani Dangote and his companies, Dansa Foods Limited and Bulk Pack Services Limited from September 4th until the 11th.

Punch reports that the high court judge, Justice Okon Abang, gave the order while presiding over a case brought against Dangote by Union Bank. Union Bank had dragged him and his companies to court over alleged refusal to pay up the N5.2bn loan granted his company since September, 2008.

The bank, through its lawyer, Mr. Chukwudi Enebeli had instituted suits seeking an order of mareva injunction to restrain all the defendants’ banks in Nigeria, from allowing Mr Dangote and his companies to withdraw funds from their accounts pending the determination of the suits.

Money problems may be behind the imminent breakup of the marriage between popular mega-church pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita. According to a new report on Premium Times, the United Kingdom Charity Commission is investigating the UK branch of Christ Embassy over controversial payments.

The United Kingdom Charity Commission has launched a probe into the transfer of at least N941 million (£3.6 million) by the church to overseas entities between 2008 and 2012.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Charity Commission said it has opened a statutory inquiry to investigate Christ Embassy over “a number of serious concerns relating to the use of charitable funds, in particular large connected party payments and the potential misapplication of grant funding.”
According to the Charity Commission, which is the regulator of charities in England and Wales, statutory inquiries are only opened to investigate “the most serious” regulatory breaches.

The commission said the purpose of the inquiry is to “determine whether there has been any mismanagement or misconduct on behalf of the charity trustees; to establish whether charitable funds have been properly applied and take appropriate remedial action if necessary.”

400 People Under Surveillance For Ebola In Rivers State

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control Project Director, Dr. Abdulsalami Nasidi, has said that the health ministry is monitoring about 400 people in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for signs of Ebola after they came in contact with a Port Harcourt doctor who died of the disease but hid the fact that he had been exposed.

Nasidi said this on Thursday in Geneva, saying that there is a sense of “hopelessness” due to the lack of proven drugs or vaccines to treat Ebola that has infected 18 people in the country.

In an interview with Reuters, he said that more isolation wards were being opened in the oil industry hub but voiced confidence that there would not be “many cases” there.

After having contact with an Ebola patient and before his own death on August 22, the Port Harcourt doctor, named by local authorities as Iyke Enemuo, carried on treating patients and met scores of friends, relatives and medics, leaving about 60 of them at high risk of infection.

The doctor’s wife, who is also a physician, and a patient in the same hospital have been infected with Ebola.

Alyssa Milano has given birth to her second child with husband, David Bugliari, a girl named Elizabella Dylan. The couple already has a 3-year old son, Milo. Congrats to their family!

The 41-year-old actress who has most recently featured in Mistresses on ABC says she has no regrets for having her children in her late 30s and early 40s. On being a second-time mom, she told Fit Pregnancy;

“Someone said a wise thing to me when I was pregnant with Milo,” she remembers. “‘Savor this pregnancy, because it’s entirely about this baby, but your second pregnancy will still be about this baby who will already have been born.’ That’s super true.”

RIP Joan Rivers - Legendary Comedian and Talk Show Host Passes at 81

Joan Rivers has just passed away, though we all thought that she was on the mend after being released from Intensive Care. Her daughter Melissa Rivers announced the death in a statement;.

"It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1:17 PM surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Mount Sinai hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother."

"Cooper and I have found ourselves humbled by the outpouring of love, support and prayers we have received from around the world.They have been heard and appreciated."

"My mother's greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon."
