The Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards or AMVCAs in short - held over the weekend with movie actors, celebrities and enthusiasts all stepping out for the Award ceremony. Check out some of the red carpet photos here and here.

As usual, movie producer, director and critic Charles Novia has written a review of this year's awards which he says seems to be lacking some pizzaz when compared to the previous years. Read the full review below...

So Sad! Baby Starves to Death 2 Weeks After Mother Died of Drug Overdose [Photos]

Nine-month-old baby boy, Casey Kessler, painfully starved to death in an apartment two weeks after his mother overdosed on drugs and died. His mother Sara, who had not been in contact with her family for almost a fortnight, is believed to have died a week or two earlier according to autopsy reports.

Sara's mother died of natural causes in the same apartment in November and no one else lived on their floor. The little baby was found dead in the living room of the flat in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after a concerned relative visited the home.

Gay Man's Mother Births His Son In Controversial Surrogacy Arrangement [Photos]

Above is 27-year-old Kyle and his 46 year old mother Anne-Marie, who is not only the grandmother to Kyle's son, Miles, but also the woman who gave birth to Miles. However, Anne-Marie is not the biological mother of her grandson, and simply carried the child. Still, though they used a donor egg fertilised by Kyle's sperm, Anne-Marie is the first woman in the UK to be a surrogate for her own son, and their story has got a debate going on fertility laws.

According to DailyMail, the family made their story public only last week after a High Court judge ruled that Kyle could now adopt Miles. Previously, Kyle was classed as both the baby's father and brother when he was born, but with the ruling, he is now, simply the baby's father. The mother is listed as unknown.

A toddler who was rescued after being trapped for more than 14 hours inside a car that had plunged into a Utah river. The 18-month-old girl was flown to hospital after she was discovered by a fisherman on Saturday

According to AP,Lynn Jennifer Groesbeck, the girl's 25-year-old mother, who was the driver, died in the accident. Police said the accident appears to have occurred on Friday as Groesbeck and her daughter were driving home to Springville, a suburb of Provo. A witness near the site heard a noise and investigated but observed nothing at the time, police said.

DNA Expert Says He Started Paternity Test Business After Almost Taking In Twins That Weren't His

Dr Oyinwola Oni, a Lagos based DNA expert says many men are not the biological fathers of their first child, but do not know it. Dr Oni said this while sharing his experience on how a former girlfriend almost passed a set of twins on him that turned out not to be his. He had been taking care of the woman and the children for almost four years, and only did a paternity test on the verge of marrying her after his first wife passed away. He told City People that results from his business show this is more common than many realize.

"I can tell you this happens to so many men. Do you know that 40 percent of most of the 1st born don't belong to their so called biological fathers, all over the world. Reason? Most of there ladies often have one or two boyfriends."

Malia and Sasha Obama joined their parents, President Obama and First Lady Michelle in Selma, Alabama on Saturday March 7th to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, a march for voting rights for African Americans which took place in March 1965.

President Obama led the 50th anniversary of that historic marches across the Edmund Pettus Bridge with his wife Michelle Obama. At the event was also former President George Bush and his wife Laura Bush, some of the original foot soldiers from 1965, faith leaders, and elected officials in Alabama. According to several reports, the above photo shows Nadia Buari's twins girls soon after their birth in an Atlanta hospital. The claims say though no cameras have been allowed near her and the twins, Jim Iyke used the photo for his recent 'miracle' tattoo which he has not shared. However, earlier reports insist Jim Iyke is not the father of Nadia's babies.
