Kim Kardashian in Nigeria - Blink and You Miss Her

Posted in: , ,

Seriously, I wonder why event promoters even bother sometimes. Like I said when the Williams sisters stopped over in Nigeria, "I wonder at the money spent on bringing international celebrities to Nigeria. Could the money be better used?" At least Serena and Venus were there for a few days and held tennis classes and  spoke at events about their sport.

That unfortunately cannot be said for Kim Kardashian. She spent barely an hour at the event she was invited for, just to take pictures with Darey, Tuface and Tiwa. I hope those who paid for the event felt they got their money's worth. Not to throw shade or anything, but what again is Kim K famous for? I want to say sex tape, but I won't. Oh yes, she runs a fashion business with her sisters, but I know her Nigerian visit was not to show/launch a clothes line or perfume.

I get it now, Nigeria will be a 2-second clip in the next season of her reality show. Maybe.

  1. 2 second ke? that one too long... her entire stay/appearance at the concert fit into a keek video (which is 36 seconds long).

O ti to... that was it... I can think of a million ways that money could have been better spent but uh... not my money so I will sit silently

  2. But she has a huge fan base in Nigeria though. Everyone I know watches her shows and are fascinated. The same applies to Kimora Simmons and her fabulosity wahala. She's just an inaccessible personality many Nigerians are obsessed with (fash the sex tape). The local OAPS, models and actresses are all 'local champions' that are always there in Lagos so it made a lot of sense to bring someone that you'll blink and they'll be gone. Applies to all foreigners coming in. You can only dream of seeing them. If I want to see Tonto, I'll go to Shoprite.

But not sure what her fee was and if they recovered the money in ticket sales.

    5. Loool. Opari!!! Myne don offend somebody- hater ke?!
However, I agree with Myne, they put the fact that some star is coming on a show in your face for weeks, die-hard fans go out of their way to excitedly attend, then the said stars make a 10-minute appearance(re D'banj and Idris Elba, that was some marathon (Kokothon) experience from what I heard). So I am not surprised about Kim.I wondered what she was supposed to do on the show sha.
Well, to each his own. Who una say e be Kim again?? *eyelashes*

  5. Wow...I guess her appearance was to boost sales...I hear the event went well even without Kim K, and as always the so called naija celebs got a picture with her not sure of the fans sha...oh and I hear $1million was paid to her.

  7. I think knowing that she has a large fan base in nigeria, it was just a sales strategy which from what I heard worked. A lot of people turned up to see her...for two seconds. I hope it was worth it sha.

  9. People should please stop beefing. If the table were turned u'd jump at the opportunity of being famous without having to work unecessarily hard. This is called ENVY.

Also, i gather the show started 3hrs late, we should learn to keep to time. She made a deal and properbly kept to her part of the deal...how does she know we Nigerians don't keep to time. Will she change her other plans bcos of us....No
Please lets leave the girl alone, if u like don't leave her she'd still me making money and we'd be here releasing adrenaline and hitting on our keyboards hating....

As for trynna accuse Dare for using Kim as a strategy, there is absolutely nothing in this world wrong with that. I salute u to jare Dare...this is what pple are paying thousands of pounds breaking our heads to learn in school and Dare is there living it already. U do well jare.....

  11. That's part of wat Kim K does!!! She makes appearances at shows and clubs! Dese shows benefit by boosting ticket sales! I dnt like it bt to each his own! She's making loads of money!!! Sex tape or not... She's a celebrity! There are millions of people making sex tapes everyday bt u dnt see dem succeed like she does so dat must count for something! (I'm not condoning d sex tape though! Not my thing bt I'm not God so I won't judge! U shouldn't too!)

  12. Nigerians are known for spending money on very trivial things and that show was one of them.Don't get me wrong, the show would've been great had Kim K not been the MAJOR attraction. The gate fee was raised because she was to appear and all she did was spend a few minutes. Why would i even pay to see her? Does she sing? Act? (Sex tapes don't count),stand up comedy? I'd have rated that show very high without Kim K,but now,i don't really know if i'd say Darey messed up or the Nigerians who pay to see Kim K snap with Darey and co for a few minutes were the ones who messed up.

  13. Let's face it, from the nasty first impressions at the airport, to the crazy drivers on our roads and the constant loss of power, who would want to stay a minute longer in this crazy city of Lagos.? I don't blame her one bit.
