Satan in History Channel's The Bible Resembles Obama?

Posted in: ,

I'd heard about The Bible, History Channel's retelling of Bible stories, but haven't been following - I saw enough Bible stories growing up, I have my own bible now, and it clashed with some other shows we were already following. But news today brought my attention to the latest twist to the program. It seems like Twitter and other social media platforms in the US went agog last night when those who watched the latest episode noted the resemblance between President Barack Obama and the Moroccan actor, Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni, who played Satan.

The topic began to go viral after right-wing radio-host Glenn Beck tweeted about it. Thousands of his followers, and the show's viewers agreed with him, and of course Obama supporters have been up in arms.

To be honest, I was struck by the resemblance myself and was wondering how come we never heard of the actor as an Obama lookalike before now. I only found one picture of the actor, and he doesn't look like Obama, so what gives?

Do you agree there's a resemblance? And if so, could it have been done deliberately for publicity or to discredit Obama?

  2. ...one would hope for a coincidental resemblance as opposed to a political stand taken by the History Channel during a broadcast of most epic proportions. That would be a shame...

  3. Why does Satan even have to be black? I am yet to see Jesus portrayed as a black man, but Satan, yes...sure...why not. There's definitely a resemblance.

  7. this is all very stupid (in my opinion) the guy looks ugly and old. all of a sudden Obama is been potrayed as similar to evil.

He is young, of a minority race and the President of the United States. If all means are tried and majority of Americans still love him, "anti- Obama's" will try to create him as evil to stare up hate or maybe a means where people will be more careful of him.

most people from minority groups are religious and believe in a type of god and the presence of evil.

It's like how sex so widly advitized sex that our minds are soo sex lingered, we want more sex-etc. if they can play with the minds of people so they find similarities bewteen Obama and Evil he might have the love towards him reduced.

It's all psychology. what you feed the mind with. (FULL STOP!)

  8. The suggestion of a resemblance seems to automatically make us see one. But trying to look at it objectively...I don't think there is a major one, and I want to think it's a coincidence. Maybe around the eyes and nose, but like I said, I think the suggestion is the culprit here. People look alike all the time, no be today na.
