Tahiti Scores One Goal in Historic Match Against Nigeria

Posted in: ,

The Nigerian national football team won an international match yesterday. But this is not about the Super Eagles because sometimes, it's not all about winning. Their competitors were the national side of small island country, Tahiti who were playing their first match at this level, the FIFA confederations.

They were totally outclassed, outgunned and outranked, but they kept their head up, and what do you know, the great super eagles let one of their tries on goal get into the net. Above is their celebration. You should see their bench too, the coaches went crazy.

Sure they lost, and it's almost inconceivable that they win the cup what with giants like Spain still ahead. But with jokes on Twitter about their team having only one professional player, and the rest being fishermen and truck drivers, you can only imagine how far they've come.

And since they'll probably be going back to views like this, I am the one envying them.

So whatever you're going through, keep your head up, celebrate the little victories, and appreciate what you do have.

That pretty sums it all up!
I saw the match and at a time I was confused they scored two goals same time or if one goal was awarded them free cos of the swag. But it wasn't any of the above. I admire their courage.

Well done Team Super Eagles too.
