Did Farida Waziri Really Write This Letter to Obasanjo As Chairman of EFCC?

Posted in: , , ,

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo in an interview an EFCC publication called Zero Tolerance cast some aspersions on the former Chairman of the EFCC, Farida Waziri. She in her turn released a press statement telling him to mind his age and warning that she might be forced to, “open up on him”.

Now this scanned letter has come to light, purportedly written and signed by Farida Waziri while still the chairman of the EFCC. In the letter, Farida Waziri is pleading to be retained on her job in the face of detractors in President Jonathan's camp. She pledges her loayalty to Obasanjo, and promises to deal with his detractors on his behalf.

Written on EFCC letterhead and with Farida's assumed signature, it looks so real, but I don't want to believe a high ranking official would write this.
