Strange things seem to be happening to singers Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea, who will be performing at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, coming up tomorrow.
First, one of Nicki Minaj’s backing dancers was hospitalized after she was bitten by a snake during rehearsals for the song Anaconda.
Nicki Minaj is scheduled to perform her new single Anaconda during the music awards show on Sunday and was rehearsing for the live show with her dancers and a large snake this week.
Minaj and her team were onstage as the six-foot long reptile slithered up to a female performer and sunk its fangs into her.
The dancer was taken to a Los Angeles hospital for treatment and the snake was removed from the stage. Her injury is not believed to be serious. It is not known if the animal will still be used in the performance.
Meanwhile, Australian rapper Amethyst Amelia Kelly, better known by her stage name Iggy Azalea, fell offstage at a warm-up show in Los Angeles.
The Australian rapper was performing her hit Fancy at a VMAs benefit concert on Friday night when she took a tumble.
Azalea was hauled back onstage at the Avalon by security guards and managed to complete her set. It is not known how injured she was but she told fans she felt “blessed” that her legs weren’t broken.
The rapper has posted footage of the fall on her Instagram page.
Azalea is also up for seven awards at the VMAs on Sunday. .
Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora will perform at the VMAs ceremony, which is being held at The Forum in Los Angeles.
