#BeenRapedNeverReported, no explanation need, right? In the post about Bill Cosby, we found that Barbara Bowman never reported her assault until years later, and she's not alone. So many woman are assaulted and remain silent, especially when they are raped by those they know.
According to the YWCA statistics above, it is said that out of 1000 rapes, 33 are reported, 12 lead 2 arrests, 6 are prosecuted, and only 3 spend time in jail. That's not very encouraging, and so I can definitely understand why a lot of rape cases go unreported. They might be unreported to the police, but today many found their voices on Twitter.
