D’banj Allegedly Sued By Tech Company Over Unpaid Debt and Dud Cheques

Posted in: ,

A Technology company, MindHub Technologies, has alleged that Dbanj is owing them the sum of  $240,000 and another  N15,000,000, and for not paying up as and when due, they have taken him to court. They claim that Dbanj has not denied the debts annd once issued them post-dated cheques, however the cheques bounced when they tried to cash them.

MindHub Technologies say they now only speak with Dbanj through their lawyers because all efforts made by them for him to pay have proved abortive. They say that since the case started last year, Dbanj has only paid them the sum of N8,600,000 out of the N15,000,000 owed, and has not paid a single penny from the $240,000.

The letter addressed to Dbanj from the compay's lawyers states in part;

“We act as Solicitors to MINDHUB TECHNOLOGIES LTD (hereinafter called “OUR CLIENT”), and on whose instruction we write you this letter in the manner stated hereunder.

It is our brief that sometime in January 2013 in Lagos, you signed a Personal Guarantee/Memorandum of Undertaking with our client wherein you agreed/undertook to pay our client the investment fund of N100,000,000.00k (One Hundred Million Naira Only) given to D KINGS MEDIA LIMITED by our client, should the latter default in payment of the debt. The said debt is made up of Nigerian and United States of America’s currencies.”

The case is said to already in a Lagos high court and due for hearing, but it has been almost impossible for months now to serve D’banj because he has been outside the country.

Some claim the major reason D’banj has been in the US is because he does not want to be served.
