Missing Nigerian Doctor Fehintola Omidele Found Alive After 7 Days
Dr. Fehintola Omidele, who has been missing since Nov. 30, was found safe around 1 p.m. today after she called her sister and told her she was in El Campo.
There are still no details how she ended up in El Campo.
Omidele's family said the last time they saw her was Sunday, Nov. 30. Family members received a call on Monday that the 25-year-old Omidele, known as FT, didn't show up for work at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. Omidele is a pediatric intern for Memorial Hermann.
After receiving the call, Omidele's father went to her apartment and found her car was missing, although her cell phone was found inside.
A video from UT Health shot in March shows Omidele jumping for joy when she found out she was staying in Houston for her residency.
"You're going to be a doctor and here's where you're going to train, here's your new family," Omidele said in the video.
Family members said Omidele is a fun-loving person who's always smiling and extremely responsible.
