Cameron Diaz Opens Up On Why She Waited In Touching Toast To New Husband

Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz married rocker Benji Madden yesterday night in their Beverly Hills Home. E! Online reports that Cameron’s best friend Drew Barrymore and Benji’s sister-in-law Nicole Richie served as bridesmaids. In a touching toast to her brand new husband after the wedding, the 42-year-old Cameron Diaz said of her 35-year-old groom, 'I waited because I didn't want to settle. Now I got the best man ever. My special man. He's mine.' So sweet!


The couple started dating last May and got engaged a few days before Christmas. All together, their romance lasted about 9 months from introduction to wedding. A source says of the ceremony;

All told, we hear that about 100 guests were in attendance and, while a massive tent was set up in the yard, the ceremony took place inside the house. Friends and family filed into the reception tent after the I-dos.

They report that Cameron was no Bridezilla, but she did lose her cool at two separate points during her special day.

When the lights flickered and went out for 10 seconds before her big bridal entrance, Diaz could be heard cursing: 'S***, f***, this is f***ed up. You've got to be f***ing kidding me!'

Five minutes later, the four-time Golden Globe nominee serenely marched down the aisle to Nat King Cole's Stardust in a sparkly gown with a low-cut back.

And right before the cutting of the cake, she was heard loudly pleading with a couple of gal pals to help her into her short-sleeved reception gown.

Lionel Richie, who is the fater in law to Benji's twin brother, performed in front of the 127 guest, and the party continued till after midnight when neighbours called to complain of the noise.
