President Obama, Others Congratulate Nigeria on Independence Day

U.S. President, Barack Obama, has pledged the support of the American government to Nigeria in combating terrorism. The pledge is contained in Obama’s congratulatory message on Nigeria’s 54th independence anniversary, to be marked on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Obama said the U.S was looking forward to strengthening its relationship with Nigeria in the coming year, especially on good governance. Obama wrote in the message, addressed to President Goodluck Jonathan;

First Case Of Ebola Diagnosed In the United States Confirmed At Texas Hospital

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials have confirmed the first case of Ebola to be diagnosed in the United States. Just this morning, Zachary Thompson, the director of the Dallas County Health and Human Services, had said that the Dallas County was ready for Ebola while talking about the patient who was admitted yesterday on suspicion of the virus.

"This is not Africa. We have a great infrastructure to deal with an outbreak."

Nigerian Military Arrests Boko Haram's Foreign Computer Expert Who Sent Videos Online

The Nigerian military has reportedly arrested a foreign computer expert who is said to be behind the several video messages Boko Haram had sent online and to foreign media outlets in the past. He was said to have been arrested with some sophisticated equipment and copies of some of the videos the terrorists had made of their escapades including that of the abducted Chibok girls.

Military sources disclosed that the computer analyst who is currently being interrogated was responsible for configuring computer images website and internet accesses that enables the group fight media and psychological operations.
