I have blogged before about unique or non traditional brides and grooms, but today, I'll be asking about colored wedding gowns. Is it a do or don't for you? My interest was piqued when I heard that Kelis used a green gown when she got married to Nas. So below, I have collected some examples that I really love, from Red, to orange, blue, pink, green, and even black.
Books to Movie Giveaway Hop
Hello and welcome to my blog to all new visitors and subscribers. This giveaway is strictly for books that are going to be, or have already been made into movies. I’m going to give away The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, published in 2003. The book was made into a movie in 2009, and after I fell in love with it, I went to look for the book.

Fine Lady - Lynxxx Ft Wizkid; Music Video Romance
I'm not a big fan of either Lynxxx or Wizkid's music, but I loved this video. OK, let me qualify that. I like Lynxxx. Who can't help but crush on such a fine specimen of bobo nkiti? The guy is just too clean, some people will say God made him on a Sunday. Back to the Fine Lady video, LOL...though the music is so-so, the quality of the pictures and the setting made it stand out. But that's not the main reason I liked this video. Who can guess?

Right from when the Martin Luther King Memorial was commisioned last year, I filed it away as a bucket list item, so when we planned a DC Trip, it got into our itinerary. It did take some walking to get there and a little drama with a couple of bike-rickshaws, but it was a trip worth making. Here's what the National Park Service says about the monument;

Obama still hopeful and wants four more years
I was thinking that Obama's speech last night would unveil a new keyword or slogan, or be built on his new campaign, Forward, but he went back to his Hope and Change keywords of the 2008 campaign. I was a bit hmmm...at first, but by the end of his speech, I got it. I hope he wins come November. The guy has met a lot of the goals he set for himself during the last campaign, he has a vision for the four years he's asking for, and I like that he's such a community/grassroots person.

unrealistic expectations
Early this morning, I was engaged in a conversation with a friend of mine and our discussion left me thinking about the many battles people fight on the inside that we have no knowledge of. Behind every face is a struggling human spirit. Sometimes the struggle is rooted in physical pain or disease or difficult finances. Sometimes it grows out of wounded relationships. My friend and I were discussing the kind of demands we individuals place on the people in our lives, and how unrealistic some of them are.

To get a Samsung Galaxy S3 or the Galaxy Note?
I have been thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy S III for my birthday which is in October, but we were at the AT&T store recently to get a phone for my mum and I got looking at their line of Samsung phones. That was how I saw the Galaxy Note and now I think I have fallen in love.

I'll share a personal story. Some of you may know that our trip to Nigeria was mostly for my father in law's burial. My FIL was a lawyer and had had a Will. In it, he had described where and how he wanted to be buried. My MIL and his sons knew this, and this made the period of his passing as well as the plans for his funeral relatively fuss-free.

Michelle's DNC Speech - Love Letter to Barack Obama
I listened to Michelle Obama's speech on Live Network yesterday [she looked great as always and her pale purple nails and slim fingers were quite eye-catching] and what struck me most was how personal it was. It was a politicized love letter, and I loved that aspect of it. Around the middle of the speech she said, "...when we were first married, our combined monthly student loan bills were actually higher than our mortgage. We were so young, so in love, and so in debt."
