Floyd Mayweather's Ex-fiancee Sues Him for Assault, Defamation and Threatening Her With A Gun

Floyd Mayweather broke up with his ex-fiancee Shantel Jackson several months ago with a lot of drama. He took every single thing he gave her during their five years together and displayed them on Instagram. He also shared receipts online showing that she had got abortions while with him.

Shantel may have kept quiet to all his tantrums, but now she's coming for payback. Shantel is suing the millionaire boxer for assault, battery, defamation, invasion of privacy, false imprisonment, and claimed he forced her to return her engagement ring at gun-point.

At the press conference, Shantel said

"There was a point in my relationship with Floyd that I thought we would be together forever. I loved him so much and I made sure that I took care of him the best I knew how.

I tried my best to make our relationship work by compromising and going to relationship counseling, but I finally realized that there was no hope and our relationship could not continue.

Talking to sports journalist, Colins Udoh, 27 year old Mikel dismissed reports that he has proposed to Olga, his Russian girlfriend. Mikel admitted that they were together and added that Nigerian girls should not attack her on social media for dating him. He said;

"Yes, she is my girlfriend, but I have not proposed to her. If that happens, it will not be hidden and everyone will know. I'm begging Nigerian girls to please leave her alone. Some Nigerian girls have already been attacking her (on social media) since this fake story came out."

British Deputy High Commissioner Slumps And Dies at MMIA Lagos

On Tuesday afternoon, a British diplomat, Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Peter Carter Leslie, slumped and died at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

The diplomat was said to have disembarked from a United Airlines Flight UA143 at 3.50 pm local time, and died shortly after.

Before he slumped, he reportedly cried out for help, but no one came to his aid because they feared he may have Ebola.

It is suspected that he may have died of heart-related complications.

Court Freezes Accounts of Aliko Dangote's Younger Brother and Dansa Foods In 20 Banks

Aliko Dangote's younger brother, Sani Dangote, has had all his accounts frozen due to non-payment of bank loans. A Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday ordered 20 Commercial banks in Nigeria to dishonour all withdrawal cheques from Sani Dangote and his companies, Dansa Foods Limited and Bulk Pack Services Limited from September 4th until the 11th.

Punch reports that the high court judge, Justice Okon Abang, gave the order while presiding over a case brought against Dangote by Union Bank. Union Bank had dragged him and his companies to court over alleged refusal to pay up the N5.2bn loan granted his company since September, 2008.

The bank, through its lawyer, Mr. Chukwudi Enebeli had instituted suits seeking an order of mareva injunction to restrain all the defendants’ banks in Nigeria, from allowing Mr Dangote and his companies to withdraw funds from their accounts pending the determination of the suits.

According to a new report on Premium Times, the United Kingdom Charity Commission is investigating the UK branch of Christ Embassy over controversial payments.

The United Kingdom Charity Commission has launched a probe into the transfer of at least N941 million (£3.6 million) by the church to overseas entities between 2008 and 2012.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Charity Commission said it has opened a statutory inquiry to investigate Christ Embassy over “a number of serious concerns relating to the use of charitable funds, in particular large connected party payments and the potential misapplication of grant funding.”
According to the Charity Commission, which is the regulator of charities in England and Wales, statutory inquiries are only opened to investigate “the most serious” regulatory breaches.

The commission said the purpose of the inquiry is to “determine whether there has been any mismanagement or misconduct on behalf of the charity trustees; to establish whether charitable funds have been properly applied and take appropriate remedial action if necessary.”

400 People Under Surveillance For Ebola In Rivers State

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control Project Director, Dr. Abdulsalami Nasidi, has said that the health ministry is monitoring about 400 people in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for signs of Ebola after they came in contact with a Port Harcourt doctor who died of the disease but hid the fact that he had been exposed.

Nasidi said this on Thursday in Geneva, saying that there is a sense of “hopelessness” due to the lack of proven drugs or vaccines to treat Ebola that has infected 18 people in the country.

In an interview with Reuters, he said that more isolation wards were being opened in the oil industry hub but voiced confidence that there would not be “many cases” there.

After having contact with an Ebola patient and before his own death on August 22, the Port Harcourt doctor, named by local authorities as Iyke Enemuo, carried on treating patients and met scores of friends, relatives and medics, leaving about 60 of them at high risk of infection.

The doctor’s wife, who is also a physician, and a patient in the same hospital have been infected with Ebola.
